It’s not how much I have, but rather how much we have spent to play in this league.... ZERO goalie specific coaching so far.

Every Midget team is suppose to have a goalie coach. If that's not the case, they have to send their goalies to goalie specific training.

Haha, ok......I think the 1 team has the owner listed as the "goalie coach", He takes your $$$$ calls himslef coach and gives limited coaching if any at all.....It's the same team that did thier baseline concussion testing in Feb. last year after someone asked when and if it was going to be done since they paid for it....

Roster of 19, 7 from Titans Major Bantams. That's a lot, but those "other good players" must have helped at least a little. Add in natural talent, a great work ethic, desire, and strong parental support. This all goes way back before Major Pee Wee.

OHL Draft 2019
The HEO area could have a very good first round.
4 HEO area players in the top 10?
2 players from the HEO Midget league.
2 more players that started in HEO area but went to GTHL.
Maybe another HEO Midget league player in the first round.

Could anyone provide some insight into what happens to U18 AAA players that don't want to play or can't play U18 as a 17 year old in Ottawa? From my understanding the U18 league only allows two 17 year old players per team and the majority of these teams opt not to have 17 yrs old players playing on their U18 teams? Are these 17 year old's forced to play either Midget AA/B or JrB?
By the looks of the path the CCHL has taken, there are fewer and fewer 17 yrs old players playing JrA in Ottawa. Do their CCHL clubs hold these 17 yrs old players rights or can they choose to leave the area to try to play JrA elsewhere? Thanks

Any 17yr old that has not signed a Jr A or Jr B card is a free agent. They can sign with any jr team in Ontario.
Once they are 18yrs old they can sign with any Jr team in Canada...as long as they have not signed a Jr card.
17yr olds can sign in the SIJHL, NOJHL,OJHL,GOJHL...any player who feels that the grass is greener on the other side
is in his full rights to explore his options and CCHL or CCHL2 teams can do nothing about it...that's the way it should be and has always been that way. All leagues have their pros and cons...no league is perfect...find the right fit for yourself...do what u think is best for u as a player

Firstly, thank you for the information. If a player opts to go tryout for a team outside of Ottawa I'm guessing that he needs a permission to skate form? If so who provides the permission to skate? Is it the U18 AAA club or the minor hockey association where the player originally signed up with/belongs (for example Ottawa Sting Minor Hockey, Kanata Minor, RSL Minor, Nepean Minor, ect)?

Very unfortunate...but didn't seem to stop the scouts coming out to watch U18....hence the 2 players in the top 10 rankings. I thought the guys who made the decisions in OHL never came to Ottawa? Guys aren't going to make decisions on top 10 picks without watching these players on a regular basis. OHL teams want the best players in their league as its the best league in the country. They will drive anywhere and watch players.

Found this on the OHL HFboards 2019 draft site

With the exception of Roman Schmidt (#36), all of the high end players on Don Mills were recruited from outside of the GTHL:
#1 Shane Wright is from Burlington
#2 Brennan Othmann is from Pickering
#4 Brandt Clarke is from Ottawa
#9 Liam Arbsby is from Ajax
#27 Francesco Arcuri is from Kleinburg
#38 Paul Christopoulos is from Richmond Hill
#50 Alex Christopoulos is from Richmond Hill
#97 Payton Robinson is from Burlington

sorry but please add Roman Schmidt to that list, Roman played in the HEO area till minor Bantam moved to Rebels minor midget because he could play up a year. Switched to Don Mills at minor midget.

In peewee the best three teams in Ontario were Don Mills, Ottawa Valley Titans, Ottawa Senators. Please look at the top rounds of the draft and you will see most players came from those 3 teams.

12 of the players in the first two rounds picks played on the top 3 peewee teams in Ontario 2 of the 3 are from the Ottawa area were you play were you reside.
just an observation.

8 2 vote tonight...u18 now permanent.

Hey JC is there a place to see job openings at HEO or is there a meeting where positions are filled?

Pretty nice results in the OHL draft. It looks like players who play in the league can still get noticed... :)

Not sure what organization you are asking about. Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO), HEO Minor, or one of the foundation Associations or Districts??

Good players get noticed no matter where they play.

Not asking about players. Asking about actual jobs within these organizations (HEO for example). Whether it's for volunteer roles or paid roles how do you find out when they're looking to fill positions and how to apply. That's it.
