Coming in peace, I actually was very annoyed and upset when Dallas dumped Nemeth because I have been following him during his career, always thought he had a future in Dallas. It wouldn't surprise me if Landeskog had something to do with this, I'm pretty sure Sakic at least asked him about Nemeth. Landeskog and Nemeth played together as kids in an almost legendary kids team in Stockholm (not sure if they lost a game, perhaps one or two).
Yes, I'm a Colorado fan but I simply tend to follow the teams with my favorit Swedes, I'm not super loyal about favorit NHL teams, I'm a Swede. ;-) I for sure didn't mind him ending up in Colorado though, the legacy from Forsberg is deep in my soul and I like Landeskog as well.
You guys talking about elite defensive d-men like Kris Russell and Alec Martinez (also Pietrangelo, Morrissey, Provorov, Weber, Spurgeon, Ellis, Edler, McDonagh), players actually focusing on playing defense. ;-)
Liking Nemeth or not I guess we can all agree upon his start in Colorado being rather impressive? Perhaps most of you guys will not admit it was an embarrassing mistake giving Nemeth away for nothing but for me it was increadibly stupid.
I have to repeat my statement, I do believe Nemeth has the capacity of becoming an elite stay at home type of d-man, of course a lot having to do with how the rest of the team plays though. He looked better being paired with Barrie (injured) compared to Barberio though.
