Kenny is gonna have to get creative. Here’s something that works on paper. For those who don’t think Holland would be interested, you haven’t followed Kenny’s career as a manager, and what type of dmen he values as role players..

Justin Holl at $1.7 million, with Klim Kostin coming back to Edmonton as well, at $1 million.

He can use Foegele going the other way, and it works with the cap. Same money in and out, but he gets a RHD role playing dman for 2 years at $1.7, AND a player he knows who fits in very well for two more playoffs at $1 million. Detroit could use Foegele to take Kostin’s spot this year.

Detroit has Vrana coming off the books. So retaining the $2 million next year isn’t a big deal.

Now, what else does Kenny send?? It will cost more than just Foegele….. You’d have to make it worth it for Yzerman sending you 2 years of good, cheap, depth.

Holl and Kostin have both been busts in Detroit. Big pass.

It's really not for someone born in the 1950's. That used to be a very common phrase when referring to buying something or making a transaction.

Born in 75, hear variations of this expression all the time in my business life.

I guess it just depends on your circle.
