How would you guys feel about something based around Bjugstad for Jenner?

What would Jenner be looking for in a RFA contract? Probaby 4 years minimum? Around $4.5 million per?
Seems like a lateral move? Taking in contract, age and production, I don't see the point.

I know +/- isn't a great stat but how is Jenner -11 on Columbus?

Didn't want to clutter Tippett's thread with trade offers, but would you be opposed to trading Tippett between now and the offseason for Kreider?
27 years old, signed through 2020.
Last 3 seasons of over 75 games played = 21, 21, 28 goals.
This season he was on pace for 22-23 goals.

Nah. If it was Zucc, look more seriously into that deal because he could play with Huby/Barkov on top line or Tro on second line.

I wouldn't want to sell low to medium on Tippett, and that's where that deal would be with Kreider. A lateral move at best, maybe worse off down the road.

id absolutely take jenner over bjugstad. and if we couldnt sign him to a reasonable extension then just trade him elsewhere. in other words, i would do it more as an avenue to get rid of bjugstad's contract than to necesarrily replace him with jenner. i would if the extension price is right

So apparently Ottawa may be showcasing Gaborik. Worked out well in his first Senators game with 1G & 1A.

Reimer
for
Gaborik

? Let Ottawa figure out what to do with Condon/Anderson.

Senators might even be willing to retain on Gabo's deal.

The Slovak could definitely still play Top-6. Is a sniper. Can still skate. Injuries are always the deterrent, but the potential for reward is nice.

Lol not even a little bit.

Gaborik has 3 more years left on his contract.

As does Reimer, and for a franchise that has typically had a harder time scoring goals than stopping them, so wouldn't the skilled, top-6 goal scorer be more important than the back-up who can be replaced by the average AHLer on a 6-figure contract?

Reimer is unparalleled. Appreciated but not celebrated.
Why do you belittle him?
If you can't recognize Reimer, let him recognize himself.
When fools judge heroes, fabric unwinds.
Reimer will remain obsolete, Reimer will victorious.

next year may be luongo's last. we dont have the luxury of trading reimer without someone in place first. ill take reimer at his 3yrs @ 3.4per, than a 36yr old already crazy injury prone lousy gaborik with 3yrs @4.875per. so we swap for a contract...at the same length...a higher price...and worse player? not something most people would see as reasonable.

That's A LOT of cash

Ryan has a modified NTC, NMC and Karlsson has a NTC. Gotta think the options are limited with that and then throw in 7.5 a year for four more years for Ryan and that doesn't seem doable. Plus Ryan is on IR right now. Doesn't seem possible to move both.

Ryan’s hand is made of brittle glass so the expectation is he should go on LTIR before that contract is up. Still that is a mountain of cap space for those two. Maybe some sort of 3 way is one that makes sense, but like RR said it is still a lot moving NTC parts to cover.

It'd be funny if we got Karlsson and Ryan.

That would put that whole "management wanted to cut salary" story to bed.

So, you'll be around ~17-18mil dollars for Ryan and EK longterm...

Yea, they won't be getting a good return if Ryan is included
