Keller or Nylander at 6 is who I'm hoping for, assuming the draft pans out as expected. If we take Brown or Jost without moving back I'll lose a lot of faith in our management and scouts.
Nope. Y'all are wrong. Logan Brown is every bit as good a prospect as Nylander and Keller. Pretty sure if you take their combined rankings from ISS, CSS, Buttons, Cosentino and McKenzies, then he is highest. Don't think there is one major publication that has Brown outside the top ten. He's still definitely an option.
Saying we would be drafting him for size is an addmittance you've never seen him play. The guy is freakishly skilled.
How is it laughable when legitimate scouting lists such as ISS, McKeen's, 2 guys at NHL.com have him listed outside the top 10?
You could say it is debatable for sure but the only thing that is laughable is your assertation that your opinion matters more than people who are paid to make these lists.
Even McKenzie's list having him at 8 shows that top 10 is debatable as there are clearly NHL scouts that have him outside the top 10. Are those scouts now laughable as well?
Nope.
ISS: Nylander (6) Brown (7) Keller (12)
CSS: Nylander (3) Brown (7) Keller (9)
TSN: Nylander (7) Keller (8) Brown (10)
McKeen's: Nylander (6) Brown (9) Keller (11)
Button: Keller (6) Brown (7) Nylander (10)
Future Considerations: Keller (7) Nylander (8) Brown (12)
THN: Nylander (7) Keller (12) Brown (14)
Hockey Prospect: Brown (7) Keller (9) Nylander (12)
Averages:
Nylander - 7.375
Brown - 9.125
Keller - 9.25
The guy from McKeens said if Juolevi is on the board the Flames should take him without thinking. He compared him to Lidstrom because he never makes a bad play. He's an elite skater. He's weak physically but that's common for 18 year old Scandanavian players. And he's 6'2 so it's not like he's small.
He said if we pick Juolevi we have another future #1 D. He said he's the 4th best player in the draft. Said he doesn't ever know when a draft eligible player was the #1 D on a WJC winner. Also, He outplayed Tkachuk at both the memorial cup and WJC when the competition got tougher.
Wasn't as high on Sergachyev. Said he tailed off at the end of the season. Wasn't as high on Logan Brown either. Could be a superstar, could be Joe Colbourne. It's up to him. Both guys have the tools to be special, just haven't put it together consistently.
He also said Michael McLeod was one of the best players in the draft... Better than Dubois.
My take from it is that he prefers consistency and polish (McCleod, Juolevi) over tools (Brown, Sergachyev, Dubois)
That said defence is where polish and consistency are the most important. If Juolevi's going to be a number one D like Brodie, maybe he is the best pick?
If Juolevi is that good, the Oilers are taking him.

I'm just hoping we make that deal for 3 so we don't have to stress about who the right pick is at 6.
Seems like it's a crapshoot of players. I've literally been all over the place in who I wanted and who I thought could be available. PLD, Tkachuk, Nylander, Brown, Chychrun, Juolevi. Don't think I'd complain over anyone but it makes me nervous that anyone we don't pick becomes an elite player that we missed out on.
At this point realistically if we get any of Matthews, Laine, Pulju, Dubios, Tkachuk, Nylander, Keller or Brown I'm content.
Considering that is 8 different guys, I like my odds at 6.
Wouldn't be too annoyed with a defenseman. Actually, I take that back, I would be very annoyed, but BPA rules I guess. Sergachev would be my preference if we had to take one.
In what world do we realistically have a shot at Matthews or Laine?
Just purely hypothetically if we traded up sort of thing.
Just saying from a "realistic" standpoint, I sure as **** won't be unhappy if we pick them somehow. Realistic to my happiness, not realistic to actually getting in reality.
Dunno if that made it better or worse
I dunno either haha
Lets just change it to that is a list of guys I certainly won't be unhappy if we draft them at 6, regardless of the likelihood of several of them being available.
I agree. I could care less, at 6 we get a good player. At 3 we get a great player in a huge area of need.
How likely is that Flames trades with CBJ and pick 3rd overall Finnish RW prospect code-name JP.
Yeah i mean Jesse Puljujärvi your team needs right handed shot winger. And Pulju is rightie

Jarmo wouldn't trade it. We'd all be over the moon.
6th, Backlund, a 2nd for 3rd overall? Even I don't think he'd accept then.
