I think his son also plays hockey. It's probably fair to say he might just like hockey more than football.

He is also going from Caps Beat at Washington Post from back in the day to Caps beat with CSN which might be a better gig on his side of things. I know he is just transitioning from football to hockey for CSN, but there are a million guys CSN can and does bring in for the NFL.

More stability with the Caps who are much more media friendly versus ole Danny boy's regime, which may have also played into it.

I know it doesn't look better on a resume but from a true sports reporting perspective CSN > Post

Long time caps fans know we were lucky to get more than a game summary out of the post... not much has changed I am sure.

The Caps beat at the WaPo is an entry level job. So, yea. Tarik has had some years now of CSN tv appearances as well, i think. I dont get to see that down here. But i would bet that he is far better on tv than Gormley was. Its a nice upgrade.

I think he was doing some TV work this past post season before/after games. And he is a million times better than Gormley was on TV.

Been out of town so I haven't been keeping up with the news, but I am pretty surprised and certainly disappointed with Bettman's comments towards CTE. He is not the leader that the NHL needs or wants right now.

i am with you unless there is a lawyer reason for him to do that. in actions the league has taken numerous steps to reduce head trauma and concussions. so, i take denials only so far

Of course there are legal reasons for him to suggest there is doubt. It's his job to protect the league its Players AND its Owners. He's running a business that is being sued...admitting anything of the like would be foolish on his part and the league's.

The comments are certainly disenheartening, but his league is being sued over the issue right now. He can't admit fault prior to the trial.

@stevecarprj: GMGM confirms hire of Vojtech Kucera as Las Vegas NHL team's Director of European Scouting. Yes, they worked together in D.C.

Petri Skriko was also removed from Washington's web list of European scouts, leaving them with just one listed (Wiederstal). They also appear to have hired a new amateur scout, Danny Brooks.

Is he pummeling Kevin Kaminski? Certainly it's not the greatest, most heroic Cap fighter of all time, in Bob Gould.
