MLBTradeRumors:

•Mike Adams could sign in the next couple of days, Jayson Stark reports. The Nationals, Blue Jays, Phillies, Rangers, Cubs, White Sox, Angels and Brewers have been linked to the free agent reliever, Stark adds.

I really like Adams. Had a bit of an off year last year (compared to his usual numbers) but has been quietly dominant for years before that.

They have a great offensive team but their starting pitching isn't deep. If Weaver goes down, they're ****ed. Is Wells their bench player now making 20 mill?

Walden is no longer there, got traded for Tommy Hanson. Also signed Joe Blanton.

So you're looking at Weaver - Wilson - Hanson - Blanton - Williams

But if they are indeed after Dickey or Hellickson, they have a great rotation.

Weaver - Dickey - Wilson - Hanson - Blanton

MLB has put a cap on draft spending, beginning in June 2012. It forces General Managers to be more creative with the available money. AA did well under the new rules this past year. His drafting and development strategy will not be affected, at all, by the new level of payroll.

I know that a cap was implemented but the Jays were still one of the top spenders at the draft. The cap only inhibits the teams that are willing to pay big dollars. Much like any cap scenario there are many teams that don't spend to the ceiling........just worried that the Jays may be one of these teams.

Considering how badly Trumbo struggled in the second half and Hamilton usually breaks down by August, this may not be as scary as some are making it out to be if we have to play them in October.

The Jays have done/said nothing to indicate they'd change their drafting philosophy, and I can't see Rogers shafting AA on the draft for $6-8M...it would basically be cutting his legs out from under him

He's vastly overrated. If they could get a premium for him, they'd be smart to do it.

Here's the thing. The advanced stats say he's mediocre, traditional stats say he's amazing. At this point, you have to go with the stats that are proven right by this play. Joe Carter had pretty awful advanced stats, but he was a massive part of the Jays two world series titles.
