If we did not pick him I don't think he even gets drafted at all today.

Let's not get completely fatalistic. Grinders and skill guys with serious warts are the only guys left. I'm glad we're getting a few bigger guys but we really need more speed up front, even the few guys we have in the system that are prospects I don't know if they'd be characterized as fast.

The 4th round isn't finished yet and there's less than 20 minutes before the Brazil/Chile game. After 20 minutes, I'm going to be watching that game and not giving two craps about the rest of this draft.

I just looked it up, since Larsson 19 of our last 20 picks have been North American through the last four drafts so far The only non North-American was some kid from Belarus we picked with our very last selection in 2012

but for the NHL team they have a lot of Europeans.


Elias, Jagr, Zidlicky, Ruutu, Josefson, Larsson, Volchenkov, Zubrus, Brunner. I think we have the least Canadians on our team in the NHL, so maybe they're trying to fix that.

Which tells you they know they haven't done well scouting these guys as fetuses but they don't mind having them fully developed

tell me you would have cared about Lemieux if it wasn't for Cordell and blood relations.


JQ had a higher PPG in a harder league and can play both positions and is trending upward after putting up 13 points in 9 games in the playoffs, while being solid all around. I really can't see the hate for this pick.

Claude Lemieux said yesterday he wanted his son to go to a California team, so he picked LA, Anaheim and San Jose over us. I think maybe it is just a case of sour grapes, because from his sons interview he seems pissed about going to Buffalo.
