Just did the simulator once and got:

1. Sabres
2. Rangers
3. Oilers

I could be wrong but I feel like the Sabres need help on the wing more and the Rangers could really use Hughes. Would the Sabres just take Kakko in this situation or try to move down to 2?

Sabres probably need both. They have two top 6 wingers (Skinner if he resigns and Reinhart) so they need two more, but they are also missing a 2nd C. Getting two elite 1C is never a wrong way to build a team. Right now Mittelstadt is not ready for a top 6 job.While hopefully some of their younger players start to pan out like Thompson, Nylander, Asplund or Olofsson. If Buffalo are lucky enough to get Hughes or Kakko they should have what they need to succeed in the future. Franchise 1c and franchise 1D together with another elite to franchise level C or W.

Buffalo are starting to look like they will be a contender soon enough with a lot of picks this year and a lot of young players that should get better. Buffalo should look to add some players with a high compete level that are good for a couple of years to help this group start winning. They have a lot of cap ready and bringing in a couple of players like Nyquist/Zuccarello and Stralman/Myers (They need a defensive RD so bad and should trade one of Montour or Risto as they dont need two offensive RD when Dahlin is their PP guy). They have a lot of cap space and can easily overpay a little for those players to rather give them shorter term as you dont want to many older players on high contracts.

They seriously need to get rid of the lottery. It's ridiculous that Ottawa had to be punished enough for drafting Alexandre Daigle, now the rest of the league does too. It is absolutely NOT unrealistic that Los Angeles could be picking 5th after today. Does anyone who watches teams other than their own know just how BAD that team is?

I do not really have anything against Ottawa and I hope they keep their team and have solid ownership someday.
