sounds like they need rangers to take belesky full and rangers need to retain on nash, but im not a cap expert

and the cap problem?

Bruins have projected $2.28M in deadline cap space, assuming they don't make any deal until Monday. Currently sitting at $2.1M. As of right now, Nash has a cap hit of $1.76M

Rangers don't even need to retain on Nash. But assuming Boston wants to make other adds, the Rangers could retain 50% or even take back Belesky.

if that was correct, and your probably right :) then why are mckenzie, dreger and shannon mentioning a cap problem?

Because deadline cap space is prorated, so the Bruins have $2.2M, but Nash cap hit is $7.8M.

I mean I like the trade a lot. O'Gara doesn't seem to have much upside and i'll absolutely take some insurance on D for a 3rd round pick.

Looks like Sweeney is riding with what he has but is adding a few insurance pieces where he can.

Maybe Mcdonagh is in the trade?

Rangers have a deal from BOS that they are willing to accept.

They have notified other teams as much - told them to submit their final offers if they have not already.

One insider thinks Senyshyn + 1st

arent you missing a cap dump?

Yes, plus cap dump(s) and retention - but that wasn't included in the tweet

It was speculation on the return, not a rumor - comes from an analyst with a decent following and good analytics guy

Kyper says the framework for the deal is there, but there is a cap issue holding up the move.

Have to wonder if there is someone that the Bruins would move out in order to gain some extra space to make it work. Beleskey is the obvious choice.

Would sending down Grzelcyk for a few weeks possibly fix this? I know he has played well, but they could as a last resort kind of thing.
