What small salary increase are you talking about? Was there any reports over what he turned down prior to the pre-season? Last Jets offer was Sunday where they offered 2x6. Which is $1.5M less than what he signed for.

And where do Jets sit after the two years. Is this similar to Trouba's situation re: arb rights, etc.? Hopefully it never gets to that!

Two year term is good for the Jets, because Buff officially comes off the books then and the salary cap is likely going to start escalating around that time.

Now let's see Laine lay down a 50 goal season and let Chevy get back to him next summer with a big, long-term offer.

How on earth you know about the negotiations? How you know what was on the table and when and was it about the salary after all.

Glad it is over and hopefully farmboy will be sorted out soon.
