There's been a ton of talk about going to a 6 man rotation that at this point I think it's the actual plan as opposed to something they are considering.

With CC back and Tanaka's time bomb elbow, I think we as fans should expect nothing less.

If I'm Yankees, I sell high on Hicks, put Gardner in CF and Frazier in LF with Stanton/Judge alternate RF/DH. Might be able able to get a nice prospect for Hicks. They can always look for SP around TDL. Sevy/Masa/Gray/CC/Monty is good to start the season

I am in agreement. Hicks is a helluva player but he is not that young either. I would sell high as well. Keep Clint Frazier. See where everything is at the deadline

How much value does Hicks actually have? He's had a good half a season in his entire career.

When Hicks was fully fit, he was pretty much set to be an all-star during the first half. His production fell off a bit in the 2nd, but I attribute a lot of that due to his long layoff between injuries. His demeanor and patience at the plate suggests it will be sustainable IMO. And as LeetchIsGod said, you won't get much on the trade market for him.

Leyritz reporting that Frazier's preference is to return to the Yankees and he might be willing to take a 1 year with a 2nd year option to do it. Normally I would ignore this but Leyrtiz posted on twitter "Stanton to Yankees done" before anyone else confirmed the report.

If I'm Yankees i trade Gardner because he can walk after this season.

With what pieces?

Did Gordon and Stanton cost much? They are giving their players away, Realmuto is now asking for a trade, what leverage do they have? I'd send them Dom Smith and a low level prospect.

This myth that the Mets don't have pieces to trade makes no sense to me. The Mets farm is no doubt bad with the recent graduations of the two best players in the system, but its bad, not completely bereft of tradable players. Every farm system has tradable players for just about any player who isn't Trout level. The systems that are deeper can better absorb the trade. Its a similar situation to these trades the Rangers made over the years. We always had the players to trade, if we needed to make a trade. We just didn't have much left after we would make a trade.

Realmuto is not a contract dump like Gordon and Stanton were and has 3 years of control left.

Your offer of Smith and a low level prospect would be topped easily by another team. The Mets have a bottom 5 (arguably bottom 3) farm. The Rangers were able to make trades because you can move draft picks in the NHL.

Realmuto is an entirely different situation than Gordon and Stanton. His salary is tolerable and has years of control. He has more value. The Marlins have more leverage in this case. They don’t have to move him even if he asked for a trade.

I think the six-man rotation was a thing that would happen if they got Ohtani. Have a tough time seeing the reason for it now.
