Cardinals are still pursuing a bat, Donaldson, Longoria, and Machado are mentioned. Even though Longoria isn't what he was and will eventually fall off during his contract, but he'd be realistic and an upgrade.

Injuries and family issues were the reasons why he had a down season. Being healthy and close to family will make a huge difference.

Mulder/Haren deal worked out pretty well for you guys.

Interesting that Mulder was moved for Haren, who brought Gonzalez, who brought Holliday, who was then traded to the Cardinals, so I guess the Mulder/Haren deal wasn't so bad for us.

i was thinking of the holliday trade and it made me cringe

Longoria is the most realistic, and he can still manage 20 HR/90 RBI and is still a solid 3-4 win player a year. Contract is a little pricey but 20 million/year isn't too much of an overpay for him.
