Woof. Thank God that didn't pan out
Then we'd just have Bishop, not a big deal.

Meh - not even PPG.If Tampa sends this kid down they will be severely punished by the hockey gods. He's earned this gig fair and square - you don't rob him of an opportunity he worked so hard for. He's ready. 8 points in 9 games?
Tied for 1st in goals & 5th in points among all NHL dmen.

It was pretty obvious he was here to stay after game 3 or 4 when they didn't scratch him to watch from upstairs and see the game from a different perspective. They kept him in the lineup letting him figure things out on his own and it has been working out great. He still has defensive lapses but all young defenders do. He's like the opposite of how Hedman was when he was his age, Hedman developed defense first then let the offense open up, Sergachev is all offense first right now.
I wanted the 2nd because it could've been a trade piece to get another forward for the playoffs, Neal or Perron type rental, but if Sergachev can keep scoring depth forward isn't as needed. With him we now have some defensive prospects who could be trade bait, I see all available except Foote and Cernak, we need RD going forward as the left side has Hedman and Sergachev for many years.
I wouldn't warrant someone with no NHL experience a spot in the top 4, let alone top 2. Many things can go wrong with prospects no matter how good they look in AHL/Juniors.Our Top 4 for the next 5-8 years will be Hedman-Cernak, Sergachev-Foote.

Yeah his IQ is pretty impressive.Really smart kid, you just have to know he was itching to do a rush like that for 8 games now but knowing the history with Cooper he knew that if he tried that and failed he would've been done. Shows he knows how to read the coach, guy knows Cooper loves that simple ****, and he hit the nail on the head with those types of plays for 8 games.
? I'm talking about Cernak and Foote here. It's far from guaranteed that those guys will be in our top 4, which he said pretty confidently....
Ummm...

You seem to be missing the timespan given. We're not talking next year, lol.? I'm talking about Cernak and Foote here. It's far from guaranteed that those guys will be in our top 4, which he said pretty confidently.
I was well aware what he said. Maybe that is our projected top 4 in a few years but sometimes things just don't pan out. Koekkoek was also supposed to be in our top 4, Connolly was supposed to be a top 6 sniper etc.You seem to be missing the timespan given. We're not talking next year, lol.
