61-65 points - i really believe that this is Scheifele's year, and that this year the Jets become Scheifele's team, as he wrests the torch from Ladd.

The more I think about it the more I start to think Scheifele will be next captain. His commitment level is through the roof.
I can see him notching 60 points. Something like 22 goals and 38 assists.

Wouldn't be surprised with 60-65.

Scheifele is the guy I'd be most comfortable giving an 8 year contract to on the entire team. Arguably Trouba and/or Ehlers have a higher ceiling, but the thing about Schiefele is that you NEVER have to doubt that he's going to do whatever he can to maximize his skillset. Kid is dedicated as hell.

I put 65+. This happens for sure if he takes over for Wheeler and Little on the first PP unit.

First unit should be Schiefele, Ladd, Petan, Myers, Ehlers. Which wont happen.

Wheeler had like 3 PP goals last year? Schiefele had 2, with 1/4 of the time as Wheeler.

Sorry to nitpick, but the poll is flawed. You shouldn't have the same point value in more than one choice. It needs to be something like this:

Below 50 (I'm a pessimist)
50-54
55-59
60-64
65+ (Super Saiyan 1C)

Unfortunately a bit late to do that now that the poll has started - some people might see their vote slip into a region they weren't intending.

Ehlers will increase his point production significantly. If they stay on the same line his production will be alot better this year.

If he sticks with Perreault and Ehlers all year (and there aren't too many injuries to disturb the lines), I think he'll top 60. It's only two games in but he looks more confident than ever and that was always his biggest problem. Now he's got some awesome linemates and based on the current lines, he should get a decent offensive zone push.

He will get points a game at some point in career. Right noenow he is streaky but awesome. Chevy must give 7 year deal this summer. $5 mill per year?

a 7 year deal at 5 mil would be a huge mistake for Scheif's agent imo. He's going to be worth a lot more than that 5 years from now. I'd like to see a 2 - 3 year deal for 5 mil (i think that's more realistic)

Scheif will put up at least 60

Very few players are putting up a point per game now. I'd love to see it, but I'd be hesitant to Project him as a top 5 scoring center in the NHL.

82 Goal season :sarcasm:

Hoping he gets 60+, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities.
