Then why has he played mostly in the NHL and not the AHL im sorry your evaluation makes no sense.

Because his role is the same whether in the AHL or NHL. If mcgrattan barely makes your NHL team, he doesn't play on the first line on your AHL. He's not all of a sudden a PP specialist because he's playing against lesser competition.

You still wanna resemble an NHL team structure. That means guys who can skate and pass and shoot will get the top lines, and the grinders will get bottom lines. It's the same reason dziurzynski played with Ottawa, but on the third line in bingo. Why wasn't he on the first line if he was one of the first callups? Because players play to their roles.

Fraser is a bottom pairing role whether NHL or AHL. He doesn't have the skill to hold down a spot in the top 4 where he would be relied on to break out or bring offense.
