That'a because only in Ottawa you give multi year contracts to 4rth liners over 1.5M.

I always ask myself why they give Burrows and Pyatt and Thompson multi year deals for THAT much...

You can grab guys like that on waivers throughout the year on an expiring deal... (I mean I like Pyatt and Thompson is alright). There's actually no reason to give those guys multi year deals. Sign them 1 year and if they play well sign them again. If they don't want 1 year go elsewhere and we'll grab a guy who'll take a 1 year...


If we'd be able to spend freely like Toronto I wouldn't care but now spending so much on the bottom of your lineup is non-sensical
