There was a time avs fans thought so too. Things can change dramatically.I also remember at the time monahan was “better” then Mack or soso HF thought

I need the receipts on that one. I remember the arguments but I don’t remember any Avs fans on the other side.
GDT: - Game 75: Avs @ Flames | Mon, March 27th, 7:00pm MT | Annihilation
I feel bad for Sven but at least he's getting a few practice games for the WC, hopefully he can keep that pace. He can thank his lucky stars he got here.forums.hfboards.com
This thread was a gem, but there were avs fans saying this.
I was definitely one of those voices. Ironically it was a few weeks before the MacK we know now emerged, but yeah I had started to accept that Monahan was better than MacKinnon. There were more than a few people who felt the same, hell I remember him in an interview with Friedman where even he was like f*** ... well I guess I'm a 60ish point guy.I need the receipts on that one. Real gem was when we were both tanking in 13-14 and we swapped GDT.GDT: - Game 75: Avs @ Flames | Mon, March 27th, 7:00pm MT | Annihilation

The point is there were avs fans of that opinion. It’s easy with hindsight to say monahan>mackinnon is just laughable, but it wasn’t in 2017.That’s an Avs GDT. You could’ve probably found some from this year that would’ve said we would never win anything.
Your damned if you do and damned if you don’t I guessAnd how’d it work when a team won a cup then immediately traded their second best player? How does it work almost every time a team gives up the best player in trade?
MacKinnon is going for a historical contract, that much we know. In short, his contract will be:
- Fair (according to MacKinnons own reckoning)
- Highest in the league
Considering the projected cap changes, we can conclude he is not likely to sign for anything lower than 14M for a 8-year term contract. Personally, I would say it will be 15M to make it a nice number.
Paying players will happen to all the good teams. At least the Avs won a cup though. You can face these situations and never win anything and stuck in the middle.Your damned if you do and damned if you don’t I guess
Those people must've been pretty scarce. I don't remember anyone ever thinking that. I do remember the majority of people being disappointed in the production, but being able to recognize the ceiling even with the able the growing pains. MacK has always had it.There was a time avs fans thought so too. Things can change dramatically.
Back then it was a constant debate, wasn’t very scarce during the dark years. Those people must've been pretty scarce. I don't remember anyone ever thinking that. I don’t recall exactly but I don’t think it was a large amount. Not everyone’s gonna always agree. There was a time avs fans thought so too. Things can change dramatically.
Possibly even $16 or 17 mil.Exactly, if Mack hit the open market there would be 31 teams and fan bases who would want him on their team at 13-15 mil.
