Something tells me I should be knowing more about Loov

Loov had a whole article dedicated to him in the Star the other day. Management has been pumping his tires all week. Safe to say his hype will keep growing.

Another late round Swedish defender gem.

I'm really liking Dakota Joshua at the Leafs' scrimmage so far - great forechecker, first on pucks, keeps plays alive. Ohio State commit

Yup. Most underrated prospect in the system.

More underrated than Nilsson?

Damn. The Swedes we draft. Nylander, Engvall, Johnson, Loov, Nilsson, Granberg, Gunnarsson

However only two of those players have ever stepped their foot into the NHL ice before, so I wait for full praise of the players until then, BUT things do seem to not be as "grim" as they have been said to be ;)
Liking the Swedish picks, now here's hoping the play translates.

Trade bait or legit hype? Let's face it none us of know anything about him. He could be a porn actor for all we know.

They're equally as under the radar, or at least were. Loov is the better prospect, imo. The size, the mobility, the true two-way potential. If he was in North America, he'd be a top three prospect in the system.

I wonder what sort of timeline they both have for coming over to NA. I'd love to see Nilsson on the Marlies this year, and Loov the year after that

Not calling you out, but have you watched him play?

If so, what do you think his ceiling is? I was unaware that he was a two-way defender. I just thought he was Gunnarsson 2.0.

Second half of scrimmage game is 3-on-3.

Nylander sets up Matt Rupert. Rupert and Toninato have two-goal games thus far. Antoine Bibeau taking a B-beating in the Blue goal.

A big developing two-way defenseman from Sweden, Loov can chip in offensively and also plays a sound defensive game. He moves the puck well with strong passing and also has the ability to skate the puck out of his own zone.

Scouting report of Loov according to hfboards

Bibeau back in form with great stops on first round picks Nylander and Gauthier.

From what I can tell, Gauthier, Nylander, Joshua, Toninato, M. Rupert and Loov are on the White side.

Valiev and Bibeau is on the Blue side.

Toninato scores first goal, a five-hole dribbler on Antoine Bibeau. Yes, I've succumbed to tweeting goals from prospect camp in July.

Not content with scoring on Bibeau, Minnesota Duluth sophomore Toninato just ran him over.

Toninato was the guy I wanted know more about - seems like a under the radar pick from 2 years back -- keep thinking he's possibly a Joe Joe Nieuwendyk type without any evidence to support that notion haha (typical Leaf fan I am)...
