The funny part about this season is that it was his offense that was questioned, would he be able to produce enough. Based on everything from this season I think he has been better offensively than Makar and obviously his defensive game is miles ahead. I think he really separated himself from Makar this year.

He had weak WJCs. His season have been great overall. Has alot of potential but i think he needs little time to adjust to smaller rink. Leads his team in points at playoffs. Pretty good for 18 year old defenseman.

Wasn't he injured during WJC?

Miro Heiskanen and Olli Juolevi, so smooth and smart puckmoving Ds. Such a pleasure to watch these guys developing on every stride on the ice, especially for the keen and experienced eye of an older state man like me.

That sounds really stupid.. Why risk it???
Because coaches wanted their best player to play and Heiskanen is competive. If you have ever played at a decently high level in any sport you are likely aware that unless a coach forces you to sit, or an injury is just too much to physically play with you just keep going.

I dont like it as a fan, but I 100% understand it as someone who is competitive in nature and plays sports too.

I watched the last 7 minutes of regular time and the OT but Heiskanen looked really good. JYP player almost scored on a breakaway in the OT but Heiskanen just managed to defend that. I don't know how he looked at the beginning of the game, but thought he was very good when I watched.

In the overtime he also had couple chances offensively. He is a huge threat when he has the puck on the offensive zone. You just wait something to happen.

He looks like a pretty good prospect from what I have seen. That being said he needs to work on two things: 1. His first step. He simply needs to work on his explosiveness, as it will benefit him on both ends of the ice. 2. His shot. His shot is already pretty good, however goalies in the nhl are much better than across seas. He needs to he able to shoot for the tip. I believe a year in the NHL would do him wonders.

I think he can win the calder next year.

Unlikely because Dahlin, Petterson and dozen or just as talented young players as Heiskanen are entering the league next year. It's a young man's league.

I would not be surprised if he spends half the year in the AHL, which is normal even for high-level prospects. Especially for those coming from across the pond.

I believe in Miro. Like Gotham believed in Harvey Dent

I would say Miro's game is more ready for NHL than Dahlins right now, Dahlins potentially is obviously higher.

Pettersson has the edge of being a forward.

I can't see him going to the AHL. He's already tearing apart a men's league with no remorse. The kid's ready.
