he was never an easy AINEC choicetbf, at the time Karlsson was the better choice.
This one is easy, as the poll indicates. EK, thought this poll would be closed already, Matthews is the better goal scorer as most fwds when you compare them to Defencemen. But EK is an offensive driver that goes even beyond his impressive stats line, as shown in the playoffs he was on the ice practically for all of Ottawa's goals for in the playoffs.
Hell no, those folks def look silly.he was never an easy AINEC choice
Or they watch hockey and see that Karlsson is not the same player. How can Matthews be out producing someone who is better offensively than him? There is irony in your statement. Matthews being on the Leafs is certainly a factor but not the way you imply.Karlsson and it's not even close. Anyone who says otherwise must support Leafs

We are comparing the best D man in the NHL in Karlsson and the future best player in the NHL in Matthews.
Any team would be lucky to have either of them.
Lol at you Leafs fans... bumping an old thread here to laugh at posters who said the obvious thing at the time. Wasn't it enough that you created a thread on your boards to give homer votes for Matthews in another poll here? Pathetic.
The thread was about whether Matthews is offensively better than the best offensive minded dman of this decade. Looking at their production at the time this thread was created; the poll result is very justified to say the least. Bumping it now that Karlsson has obviously looking like his injuries has taken a toll is silly imo. Matthews is elite offensively though, a few people who said he isn't must have missed his 40 goal rookie season... still not worth bumping it.Matthews is on pace to have an all-time goalscoring season and the highest 5v5 goal scoring season in 15 years and people on here are saying he's not elite. How is that not bump worthy?

Matthews will never be the best player in the game let alone top 5. Try again

if Karlsson AINEC was the right answer, why did it end up being completely wrong?Lol at you Leafs fans... bumping an old thread here to laugh at posters who said the obvious thing at the time. well karlsson IS an offensive driver. he drives a hell of a lot ofniffebse toward his own net. You’re so right, as always
bad math. you're wrong.Ovechkin had 43 ES goals in 2007-2008. Even if Matthews had not missed any games this season, he would be on pace for 41.
if you want to blame it entirely on Karlsson's injury (which is still a cop-out), Matthews has a higher PPG and more 5v5 points through 48 games than Karlsson had all of last year. there's tons of evidence that says Karlsson isn't miles above Matthews and it's silly for people to try to claim thatThe thread was about whether Matthews is offensively better than the best offensive minded dman of this decade.
