I give uppo.

looking like a fine young defensive winger. Not sure if he can put it all together offensively. No shame in this though. depends what the market will deem for the kid these days. Blueshirts should hold on and hope it clicks one day.....just my dime store thinking

bern repudiates the win now, whine constantly crowd, for whom OP is a cheerleader.

-----
The kid is both coming along while being semi-miismanaged.
He is learning certain fundamentals at NHL level.
Also had to get his conditioning up from rookie yr where he went directly into pros as an effin teenager.

However, now that he is where he is, idiot coach Quinn is not doing anybody any favors, or any good [other than Howden].

KK is a beast.
He is potentially a driver of play.
He is not a generational guy who does it all by himself.

As I have said:
formula:
driver of play + facilitator + scoring finisher
can = a successful line.

The line should be:
KK + Kravtsov + Panarin

THAT will work, if it is given a real chance --- beyond Quinn.

correct, it's all Quinn's fault. Unleash Kakko! Looking forward to seeing Kravy also dominate at the center position as well. Perhaps this year too.

It's one thing go make sure the guy gets his feet wet and he is not thrown to the wolves.

Now that he is ready, he completely should be unleashed.
But he needs the ideally correct linemates to produce ideally well.

Whether or not Krav would succeed, let alone dominate pivot in a vacuum, I would not say that without giving balance of this season to get idea of his game.
But I will commit to saying if my suggested line of KK -VK - AP is made and gets mins to be comfortable, 111% it will succeed. Talent is high and each F has complementary role.

Even if you're right about the value, there's no way I do that. I liked Kakko as a prospect and I think he can turn things around but I also like Newhook a lot and at this point, it seems just as likely Newhook will be a good player. And Newhook can play center.

The only way the Avs should be trading Newhook is part of a package for an already established top 6 C.

Its nothing against Kakko or anything. But this trade doesn't make sense for the Avs.
Newhook had a 2 goal / 3 assist game last time out. He’s a great prospect.

Take Newhook out of that package and I’d offer the rest.

Barron is having a great season in the QMJHL. Kaut scored recently in his return. And Jost looks like a 12 year bottom six forward and high end Pk player. Plus 2021 1st.

wasn't Kakko really coming in before he missed some time this season?

seems like an overreaction and patience is needed. he's 20. this doesn't need to be another seguin. also nothing wrong with sending him to hartford and work on his game and gain some confidence and more acclimated to the pro game he was likely rushed in to

Agree on patience.
Does not need AHL mins
Needs no Quinn, quality mins pref complementary linemates.

If/when they try this, I will be proven right:
Kakko-Kravtsov-Panarin.

It’s a lot. Banking on Kakko breaking out as a consistent 30 goal per season guy next year or the one after.

Barron is trending towards good NHL player. Jost appears to have found a role in PK specialist. 2021 1st and Kaut is mysterious. Looked good last year. Didn’t get a chance this season.

He is frickin 20 years old...As a devils fan I hope he does bust while he is playing for the Rangers . However wanting to trade him now is crazy talk. Give the kid some time. Not everyone is going to be like Matthews / McD where they set the league on fire in their rookie year and year after .
If he is still struggling in 2/3 years, then I’d start to panic.
No sense trading him now when you have no real idea on if he is going to reach his potential or even what that potential is.

Kakko scored a goal against an ECHL goalie playing his first NHL game in 5 years, and also scored against an empty net

On his way to becoming a hall of famer. That'll show everyone doubting him
