He doesn’t do anything well anymore but he also makes almost no mistakes. So he’s not bad in my eyes he just isn’t good.

At this stage he's the perfect no-event fourth liner. I'll miss him.

Wouldn’t mind him if the Ducks weren’t desperate for goals. Playing too many forwards that can’t score as it is.

His offense is done, but defense is still serviceable. No reason to sit/dump him mid-season, as this team pretty much sucks. (No need to consider team being completely healthy this season, either).

Every time I notice Silf it's him chipping the puck down the ice and I think to myself, "Man, he's probably the best guy on the team at chipping the puck out without icing it!"

And at that moment, I knew he was done as a productive NHL'er.

When healthy, our 4th line is actually good. Relative to the other lines, they're not a problem. There are probably some teams that could use what Silf still brings. Unfortunately, Anaheim has a ton of depth pieces, it's just the core ones aren't where they will be yet.

He was so, so good alongside Kesler in that '15 run. These last couple seasons have been rough, but I have nothing but fond memories. Especially of those few years when he essentially told every goalie he was going high glove in the shootout and then scored there anyway every time. It always gave me so much joy.

My favorite memory of Silfver as well is those shootout goals.

Guy has been incredibly loyal and a good soldier for Anaheim. He will be missed.

I'll bet you dollars to donuts they have not spoken to his agent about an extension thereby leaving the situation hanging, unless Silf were to say himself that he is leaving. I'm guessing he hasn't said anything to the team.

I believe Silf said or hinted that this was going to be his last year on NA ice during the summer and that he wanted to play back in Sweden.

He may have. But I'm still guessing he never told them explicitly and they have not reached out to ask his intention or offer him the possibility of returning. I would think if both sides had spoken and agreed he wasn't returning the Ducks would have offered up some gesture for his last game. But, who knows?

I believe the fact Silf wasn't traded at the TDL was probably a sign that both he and club knew this would be his last season on NA ice.

last game i saw 2 of the officials skate over to the ducks bench and exchange words with jakob that ended with what appeared to be congratulatory/farewell handshakes. im pretty sure hes done in the nhl.
