One of the biggest fumbles this year for sure. They surely had lots of offers for him and sat on their hand too long now he’s worth significantly less.

There’s only like 1-2 teams who he even really fits in on that haven’t made major moves yet. A trade to Buffalo makes sense but they seem to be patiently building and keeping pace.

If he’s not moved by the deadline for a good return, this is a massive failure and an embarrassment to the team who’s faced countless of those in the past.

While I'm enjoying the sideshow I do think he's the last move/one of the last moves at the deadline. Two teams at least have reportedly met the ask and quibbled on small details, Armstrong clearly just holding out to see who tips the scales at the end. Or who enters the race after watching others drop out.

Have the Jets been tied to Chychrun? I thought it was only Pittsburgh and St. Louis left of teams who have been clearly tied to Chychrun.

All of the other big favorites from before (Boston, Washington, Carolina, Edmonton and LA) have traded for alternatives at this point.

Patience is key young man. People said the same about Joe Sakic when he held out on trading Duchene. How did that turn out?

During one of the intermissions of the CBJ/BUF game last night, Emily Kaplan straight up said that Armstrong has received offers from 2 different teams that meet his reported asking price.......but that he's now holding out to get the absolute most possible.

We'll see if she's right or not. But apparently he has gotten what he wants, but now wants more if possible. If that's the case, we'll hear about a trade roughly 3:15 PM ET tomorrow (as in, league office gets it at 2:59).
Wasn't it reported yesterday that one of those teams was Edmonton and that they had a deal but then Armstrong asked for more which caused them to go after Ekholm.

Hurricanes are still stacked with picks. Them getting Gostisbehere doesn’t impact interest in Chychrun.

They don't have a roster spot or cap space for him anymore.

From an outsider looking it, it seems like they have Slavin, Skjei and Gostisbehere on LD and Pesce, Burns and Coghlan/Chatfield on RD.

At this point, I think LA should go all in and grab Chychrun and Bjugstad from Arizona. No point in holding back now. If Clarke's off limits, that's fine, but then send next year's first, Kaliyev, Spence, whatever else.

Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Fiala - Bjugstad - Vilardi
Iafallo - Lizotte - Kupari

Kings already have one of the deepest forward groups in the league and adding Bjugstad really solidifies the bottom six, allowing Lizotte to slide back down into the 4C role that he excels at.

Anderson - Doughty
Chychrun - Roy
Gavrikov - Durzi

That's a defense that can make some serious damage in the playoffs, and you've got Edler and Walker ready to step in in case of injuries. Depth matters a lot in the playoffs.

Maybe they can win the cup with this roster and forget about all the Quick stuff.
