That is definitely what they should be doing ... Sabres have all the leverage over opposing teams and Eichel.. they should not be relinquishing that.
I mean if you want to say the Sabres have more leverage...well maybe/maybe not but sure go ahead.

"All the leverage" no sorry. If they did we wouldn't be talking about dealing Eichel at all.

He's injured.
They disagree on how to handle that.
He wants out.
They are bad.
Their tank & rebuild strategy is an abject failure.
He has a contract that reduces the number of teams he can go to.

All those things give Jack and other teams "some" leverage. How much is debatable, but this "the Sabres have all the leverage" stuff is wishful thinking.

They have less leverage now than they did when they traded ROR.

Ponder that...

Right because it won't happen. Jack will suck it up and play

he won’t play there. All insiders have said he is getting traded. The idea that the sabres will just refuse to trade him is nuts

He will be fine
He is a franchise player
He skates like the wind
He puts many pucks in Nets
He is a number 1 center
He sells seats
He sells merch
The Girls love his curly hair
He is a Captain
He has no say on if he is traded..

And if they didn't learn anything from the ROR fiasco then there is no hope for them. But yes..they have all the leverage if they have the fortitude to use it.

Granted they will probably f this up but there is no reason "to make the "best" of a bad situation.

They need to get pretty damn close to fair value or call Jacks bluff and keep him for 5 more years and let him walk to Boston.

He's right. You guys are delusional. Jack Eichel is elite. Just because the Sabres are a bad team with bad management doesn't mean Sabres fans shouldn't ask the proper price. Make no mistake, 2 top prospects + is the proper price.
Good luck ....

He ain't wrong...

I mean fans of other teams will have issue moving big pieces and that's fine but Eichel doesn't move for a small price. All this talk of injury concerns and Eochel wanting out are a bit fluffy. Sabres don't have to trade him.
I agree on 2 prospects plus adds .. just not BOTH Vilaridi AND Turcotte. It's one plus someone else ....

Drama Queen and Eichel go hand in hand.
You do have a point here. Every offseason all we hear is, "Eichel is upset and dissatisfied with losing in Buffalo" and every year it's the same thing. They add Skinner, add Dahlin, add Oloffsson, add some vet D, add Taylor Hall, etc. and yet it's always the same thing. What has Eichel done to help lift the Sabres out of the basement? It's always the fault of the coaches, GM, other players, etc.

Meh

Things in Buffalo aren't all as doom and gloom as the media or posters that haven't watched the sabres in years make them out to be.

By just the fact of going back to inter-divisional play, the Sabres schedule will be loads easier.

Last season they played half the year without their top center and both defensemen from their top pairing.

When Ulmark played, the team was actually above .500, so stabilizing their goaltending will probably make a big difference.

But most importantly, they don't have to move Eichel. Getting him healthy and playing well before making a trade makes a ton more sense than moving him now, unless the offer is exceptional.

Patience is key here. The team is honestly in a decent spot in terms of their rebuild. They are a very young team, with a lot of talent and they played reasonably well at the end of last season which is something to build on. They have some decent prospects coming up, and the #1 overall pick in this draft.

All Adams has to do is be patient now and things will come together.

I hope Buffalo gets a good offer, as I really think it's time to move on from Eichel. And if Reinhart is dead set on going, then trade him to. Start over with players who want to be there. Hopefully ownership and management can get it right this time. I feel bad for the fanbase and would prefer to bash them because they're good and a rival, than to feel sorry for them.
