Are we really going to pretend a guy falling awkwardly after a collision is in the same league as a guy getting hit in the neck (or face) with a puck?
Leafs fans are taking this really personally. This is on the refs, not the Leafs. The Leaf player was hurting, there's no doubt about it. But it wasn't significant enough to stop play while the Bruins had the puck, especially given that it wasn't significant to stop play while the Leafs had the puck.
It was poor officiating. It happens all the time. Instead of justifying it because you're from the opposing fan base, why not just admit it? Some Leafs fans already have, and that's great. But snarky replies about the whistle being blown for a guy taking a puck to the neck demonstrate clear bias.
Jack gets paid to call the games the way Bruins fans like to hear them. Was he over the top? Sure. Was this a botched call? I'd say so.
The irony is your pages and pages of arguing is that Boston was lucky the refs didn’t call Marchand for interference (accidental or not).
He literally took out the legs out of an opposing player on a potential scoring chance rush.
Instead your bickering in hindsight what level of perceived injury constitutes a a blown play.
Something is in that Boston water alright
