They make it sound like he did it intentionally but I bet it was completely accidental.

I'll never forget Radek Bonk on the habs in the midst of a huge goal scoring drought have one go in off his ass.

Much like Roy in the Q he was very highly touted at one point. Finally showing why.

I also glanced at the WHL stats for reference (Mattheos is indeed up there at #7), and noticed that the undrafted overager Ty Lewis, who just so happens to play on Mattheos's wing, was third with 30 points. He's no longer draft eligible and tried out for the Avs this year, but I'd bet that he didn't get signed because he's not AHL eligible. If he continues to have a great season in the WHL, he might be worth looking at as an undrafted free agent.

Mattheos is also first in the league in power play goals. 4 ahead of the next closest.

Also, how did I miss Kieffer Bellows moving to the whl?

Hola fellas! A new guy here. I was wondering that what happened to Kuokkanen and where is he? Elite didn´t give me any answers so I put my trust on your hands.

At the draft:
Ron F: "You know, the last two Fins we picked at the draft have worked out pretty good so far..."
Scouting Director: "Here's one..."

I like to imagine Scouting Director having one of those moments where your boss mentions a project you totally forgot, so he just shuffles around some papers till he sees the name “Eetu” and plays the confidence game.

Luostarinen was the 56th ranked prospect on McKenzie's list...which is an aggregate ranking of all the scouts he works with.

I've never seen him play and don't have an opinion on the guy, but based on McKenzie's rankings, pick 42 was in the neighborhood of his perceived value at draft time.

To be fair, if we picked the other Eetu in the 2nd and this one in the 4th nobody would be complaining.... well no, we'd still be complaining,.

I've long ago stopped complaining about our draft choices at draft time. 2 years ago, pretty much everyone thought Hanifin was a slam dunk pick and would have gone bananas had RF selected Provorov or Werenski. Still to early to close the book on this by any means, but still. Also, many of us didn't even know who Aho was and a few of the board members, were downright pissed about the pick. The Canes clearly knew that NJ was going to grab him if the Canes didn't so there are inner working things that we just don't know about.

McKenzie mentioned Bean for the Canadian Olympic team last night... said Burke would scout the JRs tourney see if a couple of the older players might be available...

Not prospects, but related to this topic. But I saw somewhere that Justin Peters is being considered as one the goalies for Canada. Also James Wiz tried to make an attempt at his dream of playing for the US but he got rejected or something along those lines.

i really liked the Mattheos Geekie and De Jong picks. i have all 3 rated highly. Mattheos i think will be a slam dunk for a 3rd rounder and geekie (not as high but still high) will probably make the nhl. De Jong is a person i always pick in the nhl games so i have to be high on him lol. GM RF is very high on our 7th rounder Ville Rasanen, said he could be another Freddie Anderson so i trust him. sorry for lack of posts this week been sick (still sick)

Anyone who was here for the 2010 draft should have learned vicariously to keep their mouth shut.

Figure skating smurf over Fowler or Gormley? What the hell is JR doing...

That was my first summer here actually. I joined because the people on Facebook weren’t as mad about drafting Skinner as I was.

The big question of the offseason was “who will Be our 3rd line center?” I personally had Skinner pencilled in lol.
