Tampa trade Killorn, Sergachev and The 3rd rounder from Philly to the Devils for the no 20 pick and a contract.
If you think Tampas going to get value think again.. Its a Covid world
If Tampa says no.. Devils will wait for teams to panic. Not lot of teams have capspace. Its going to be hectic and The Sellers is going to be shafted. 80% of the team owners want to lower salaries
If you think other teams won't make better offers you better think again.

If you had to under OR ELSE categories waive Gourde in WORST WORST WORST case scenarios they are still better than the late one or offer 4.5 inferior d men Serge offer.

If you think 30 teams are going to conspire so TBL will have to trade 1 out of 30 teams will get a steal, you better reevaluate. Your personal jealousy of TBL will not cause TBL to take 15 cents on the dollar.

This is not complicated.
a) offer legit elc players tbl can use if you want Serge. i.e. EDM elc d-man
b) offer 8m to Serge or 6m to Cirelli in offer sheet form and roll the dice.

Colorado will soon offersheet Cirelli ($6m x 5) and Cernak ($4.2m x 4) and solve all of Tampa's problems. They'll get COL 2021 1st, 2nd, and 3rd as compensation. :thumbu:

ITT: Our NTC players will never leave but our RFAs will leave the first chance they get and sign any contract any team offers.

Hm weird how great our franchise and city is to just guys like Johnson and Gourde but Cirelli, Sergachev, and Cernak will just want to leave.

All the guys (you know who you are) who constantly post about our RFAs leaving should read this Agent explains why Brayden Point signed bridge deal with Lightning - Sportsnet.ca

This actually isn't too insane.
Cirelli might be closer to 7, but that's above market value for Cernak

How freaking dare you post something from an NHL agent speaking on why one of the best centres in the NHL signed a cheaper bridge deal?

Who do you think you are, linking an article that insinuates that beyond taxes, there is other reasons a RFA will want to re-sign in Tampa doing something everyone of their teammates have done and which leads them to be a consistent top team?

Shame on you for insinuating that these RFA's know what the current state of the NHL is and what is needed to keep a team successful. Also that they would even entertain signing slightly lower bridge deals to keep their championship winning team together.

For shame, Sir. FOR SHAME.

Detroit is not giving TB any prospects for anything TB will have to offer. TB has no leverage at all in this situation, plain ridiculous.

No, were saying that the RFAs arent going to turn down millions and millions of dollars extra just to stay on Tampa on a bridge deal. The UFAs don't get anything extra to waive their NTC

I hope you can see the difference

Uh, there are 30 other teams to trade to. This isn't a Patrick Marleau situation

Would Tampa accept COL 1st (#25) straight up for Cernak?

Colorado could OS him at up to $4.227m AAV and only pay a 2nd in compensation, but being able to sign him at a lower AAV than that (along with not having to wait 7 days for TB to decide whether to match) would probably be worth paying a little extra for.

Doubt it, even if contract talks are going nowhere I think he would fetch more.

Why would he?

Sunshine, contender, no income tax.

Vs

Terrible weather, non-playoff team (24th this season), and high taxes.
Supposedly he grew up there from what I’ve seen around here when talked about. I also heard though he might not be interested as he is the opposite of playing close to home. Rather be away from it. Similar like Cammalleri said that he’d prefer to play elsewhere than in Toronto and be way from home. Go home in the offseason. Not sure if it’s a family and pressure thing but there is that. He might not want to also because of that reason.
