Both the Bolts and Isles needed the Leafs to lose out-they did not.

I am actually a Canucks fan, however this is definitely accurate. I remember Toronto getting in the last night of the year.

The Leafs won a bunch of games with JS Aubin in net (of all people) and went on a tear toward the end of the 2006 season but missed the playoffs. They beat BUF 7-0 and OTT 5-1 late in the season; those were two of the best teams that season.

Didn't our season come down to a shoot out between the islanders and devils? That sucked

Carolina two years ago went on their annual March hot streak and got within 2 points of a wildcard spot. Then in typical fashion lost some key games down the stretch and fell out in the last week.

This year they won some games early on so they were able to make the hot streak mean something other than screwing up their draft position.
