Why even post **** like this?

canucks hfboards.com is where you get shot down by other canuck fans if you post positive comments.

title of thread is did the Canucks build up a prospects pool.

turns into a Benning bashing Linden Bashing and 2014 bash vest, 2014 is exactly 4 years ago, silly Canuck fans still whining about a draft 4 years ago.

What does Demko have left to prove in the AHL though?

Vaselevski was in NHL at 20, Hellybuck at 22, both big lanky goalies who put up 1-2 super solid AHL seasons. At some point you need to get him to the NHL, even if it means there's a bad team in front of him. Due to how bad this team is, we're never going to get better unless there's a certain amount of throwing young prospects into the fire.
I think he could use a bit more seasoning but I wouldn’t mind him suiting up for 10-12 games and getting more of a taste next year. Kind of like what CBus has been doing with Korpisalo. Mind you we don’t have a stud like that blocking him, but I think you could break him in similarly. Who knows though? It isn’t EA Sports

Demko should get 25-30 starts in the NHL next year unless he completely shits the bed in training camp.

If he's as good a prospect as we think/hope he is, this is the time for him to be making the next step.

We don't have a down vote system. You might be thinking of reddit, or some place like this where your post will be hidden if you aren't showering praise on St. Linden and his faithful lapdog Elmer.

Not at all actually. When you draft players and give them away that leaves the team with nothing anyway.

Nothing?

Shinkaruk drafted became Granlund

Forsling drafted eventually helps us get Sutter and Lockwood

McCann drafted gets us Gudbranson

Where is this drafted player we now have no asset for?

So you will never blame the current Canuck woes on Gillis then?????????

I’ll let you play in that sandbox of yours alone.

We should try stay on topic “have the Canucks quietly built up a solid prospect pool”

So, “keep the change”? “Buy yourself a cup of coffee”?

Yup.

Gudbranson is a negative asset due to his cap hit (and the fact that he's really not any good). Similar to Sutter...awful cap hit for a mediocre 3rd line C. The Canucks would have been MUCH better off without those two trades. And Granlund is a replacement level player who doesn't move the needle at all. We'd be just fine without him too.

What do any of these players have to do with the prospect pool?

Our prospect pool is the best in the league now. We should (FINALLY) get a Cup over the next few years with this group. Then there will be a parade!

We traded prospects who are now playing in the NHL for them in McCann and Forsling. Although Forsling is connected in a more roundabout way to Sutter. If we hadn't made those two trades, we'd be left with talented young players who are showing that they can play in the NHL. So our prospect pool would be better without those trades.
