He's last of these eight, by a pretty substantial margin, in terms of his team's share of shots, scoring chances, unblocked shot attempts, and high-danger shot attempts. When you can re-sign the worst defenseman on a terrible team, you just gotta do it.

^^^^^^This is the huge, huge problem with Benning's so-called scouting ability. He thinks established players are still like raw rookies who just got drafted. Here's a guy who's been in the NHL for years, done the same things the same way, then Benning looks at him and says: "Well y'know, if he becomes totally different in several areas he could be real good!" then spends stupid assets on him. Unrealized potential...what a joke.
Benning's doubling down on his failure. He's never going to recoup the cost of getting Gudbranson but rather than admitting he f***ed up and got hosed by Tallon, he's hanging on to his mistake, who he will soon overpay and probably furnish with an NTC.
No we weren't.
1 year 12 million, anything that prevents Benning from spending further in free agency.

Seems like another player being overvalued because he's physical and a "canadian boy". The scary thing is that Benning isn't the only gm who has that mindset.
