84 Grand for the 50/50
People in Edmonton are ridiculous with 50/50. Pre-competition game had like 50,000+.
I find it hard to believe, seems nearly impossible. If there was 20,000 fans, for the 50/50 to be 84,000, each person would have to pay $8.40. Doubt every person pays considering a lot are kids or whatever, so say 12,000, that's $14 dollars per person.
I think when I was in Ottawa this year, the 50/50 was like 10,000, if not less.
Fehr Time said:Too bad they could not tie it there. I have to say, if Canada is going to win they will win 1-0. Mrazek is shutting the door from hear on out.
Thats just a ridiculous comment. Yes he is playing amazing, but this is Team Canada, it will be more then 1, book it.
Me too. That pass was the TSN turning point, imo.
I have been to Junior games in the WHL were the 50/50 is 10 grand. I have been to Junior A games were it was 5 grand. People love 50/50s
Maybe it's more like a 75-25, and they're being generous.

Not to mention people out west have lots of $$$$$.
Whats 50/50s?
Meh, not really, cost of living is through the roof. The people that really make the money are the ones that go out and work for 4-6 months in camps for free, and come home with pure profit.
You buy a ticket and if your number is drawn you win half the prize so basically half the cost of the ticket goes to the winner.
When I was a kid we got to sell 50/50s at Jet games and our team got half the proceeds. I remember it getting up to around 30 Grand
Yeah, the recipient in most places is local minor hockey, so that's even more incentive for people to throw them $20 or so.
People go around and sell tickets with numbers on them. At the end of the game one of the numbers is drawn to win 50|% of the total gained.
Raffle drawing. 50% of sales goes to the winner, 50% goes to a charity.

It's a draw. You pay 2 bucks for a ticket, or 3 for $5; however much money they collect half of it goes to some charity the other half goes to the person whose ticket they drew. So if they collect $100,000 and they draw your ticket you win $50,000. Only people in the arena can play.
