84 Grand for the 50/50 :amazed:

People in Edmonton are ridiculous with 50/50. Pre-competition game had like 50,000+.

I find it hard to believe, seems nearly impossible. If there was 20,000 fans, for the 50/50 to be 84,000, each person would have to pay $8.40. Doubt every person pays considering a lot are kids or whatever, so say 12,000, that's $14 dollars per person.

I think when I was in Ottawa this year, the 50/50 was like 10,000, if not less.

Maybe it's more like a 75-25, and they're being generous.

Too bad they could not tie it there. I have to say, if Canada is going to win they will win 1-0. Mrazek is shutting the door from hear on out.

I believe the 84k. For one, those draws have to be done legally and they get audited very carefully. And an old neighbour of mine won something like $20,000 at a WHL game where the attendance was only 6000 or so. Some arenas just have insane 50/50 sales.

What'll really be hilarious is if the PM buys tickets and wins.

There are a lot of people who put down $20, so I'm not surprised. The other half goes to some charity so there is incentive to put some money into the pot.

I believe it.

Whats 50/50s?

You buy a ticket and if your number is drawn you win half the prize so basically half the cost of the ticket goes to the winner.

When I was a kid we got to sell 50/50s at Jet games and our team got half the proceeds. I remember it getting up to around 30 Grand

It's a draw. You pay 2 bucks for a ticket, or 3 for $5; however much money they collect half of it goes to some charity the other half goes to the person whose ticket they drew. So if they collect $100,000 and they draw your ticket you win $50,000. Only people in the arena can play.

Yeah, the recipient in most places is local minor hockey, so that's even more incentive for people to throw them $20 or so.

People go around and sell tickets with numbers on them. At the end of the game one of the numbers is drawn to win 50|% of the total gained.

Raffle drawing. 50% of sales goes to the winner, 50% goes to a charity.
