Visentin overplayed the puck all day, U.S. and teams like Sweden and Russia in the other group pool will expose him on cross ice passing plays. You can agree or disagree if you felt he played well today, but if not for Canada Dmen playing goalie it would have been 3 or 4 goals.

Finland fell apart after Stone made it 3-1. Can happen with inexperience. Visentin has to STAY in his crease. Wow, talk about a fatal flaw, opposition would be wise to crash the net. DHamilton is a total turnover machine. Ryan Murray is as advertisied, very smooth. Gormley, very impressive. Huberdeau, Stone & Strome were very good obviously. Schwartz looks a little slow to me.

Murray and Harrington are quite a pair, they're so solid back there especially Harrington. Great draft selection by the Penguins. Hamilton looked more at ease not having to play against the Granlund line and he proved to be more effective. Good to see Huberdeau break out, he was still finding his way conditioning wise during the exhibition but if he can perform to his best ability it'll give us two really potent offensive lines with the other one being the Schwartz line. The injury to DSP really ruined the dynamics of the lines so hopefully it's not too serious but considering he left the arena in an air boot with crutches, doesn't sound too good. I love the phrases that are coined during this tournament. Already with, '' The Hands Of Stone '' & '' "And Boone goes the dynamite '' hahaha classic! Especially the latter one which Duthie came up with!!! Granlund was really impressive, he's going to be a treat to watch in the NHL next year. He's a man amongst boys and some of the plays he can set up, his teammates can't even read. He's so elusive and his Hockey Sense is great! Overall great game, time to keep this up for the next game vs the Czechs! And although it looks like the injury is serious...fingers crossed DSP's injury is no biggy... He's a momentum changer with his bone rattling hits!

Granlund was very impressive, created chances and literally made zero mistakes.
Though nothing else was good in Finland's game.

Also thing to notice is that Granlund's line was +/- 0 in that game.

Canada tried to take advantage of specific underage Finnish dmen and it worked. But this game wasn't Canada dominating, it was more Finland crapping the bed. Visentin played well, but there are holes in his game that will be exploited by the US, but the Finns were off so they just couldn't take advantage.

No mistakes? Aside from that powerplay goal where he let Huberdeau walk in.

Finland have a big hill to climb, especially mentally. They have plenty of games to recover and I suspect they will be a factor in this tourney. They will need to improve the PK.

They could also take a page from the Latvians by showing some desperation in breaking up plays and blocking shots. The Latvians have some other issues mind you.

Nothing official just yet but I'm hearing Devante Smith-Pelly's X-rays showed a fracture and he's likely out of #2012WJC. Stay tuned. - BOBBY MAC

That was on Ristolainen who decided to go behind the goal for some reason and check someone.

Agreed, even though finishing checks below the goal line on the pk is not a cardinal sin - why do it? He could not recover and they basically gave a goal away which completely destroyed the game.

I thought he was pretty nifty with the puck at times, but not very effective overall. I hate to say it in a way, but it is the same old story we hear every year about some hotshot from wherever, who usually turns out to be not so great against a big, strong defensive team like we usually produce.
