Crosby about the lesson of the women's gold medal game

"we need to keep going after them"

That's it, we need that third goal, badly.

Kevin Dineen sighting on after 40 minutes.

Can't believe people are saying that the Swedes saying 'injuries' is an excuse.

It's the most valid one ever. Equivalent to us being down our whole 1st and 3rd lines really.

It's not our fault Canada is more talented.

USA was healthy and we dominated them...We can dominate a healthy Sweden team too

5 periods of complete and utter possession/defensive domination against the two other best teams. This is why Canada is so much better than anyone else. Gotta close it out though, of course.

All I see it bitterness here. Team USA was owned for over half of that semi. Quick is the only reason they didn't lose by 3 or 4. A good goalie goes a long way and the US (and Latvia) each have one.

Correct, but you refuse to acknowledge how pants ****tingly close you are to not being up 1-0 2-0. Botched chance after botched chance. Paul Statsny redirected a puck during that game that was a 1/4 of an inch of going in a wide open net. There was a Swede in this game that wiffed on a wide open net. I don't care how much possesion time is on each side, Canada always seems to have this forcefield around their goal. You honestly don't realize how lucky you are. Perhaps you should go back and watch the games again.

Finland was missing at least 4 key players and still we manage to fight for the win against Sweden very well

Swedes, stop making excuses ;)

But to constantly say it makes them sound like they're whining but we're the classless gloating Canadians...please! Yes Finland and Sweden played an amazing Olympics but to use that as an excuse when their goalie is keeping them in it is just so childish.

It is really no excuse with the injuries. But Canadian posters stating that the losses evens out and then in the next post state that Canada is so incredible deep (which is true) does not compute. It is just homerism and silly.

Still one more period to go and Sweden have always been good in coming back, but all I can say is:
it really didn't matter if the final would be Canada vs Russia/USA/Sweden/Finland, Canada would have most likely won all those games.

Unless both Sweden and Finland had been full strength, but that is just speculation at that time and is waste of time.

When you can choose from all players in your country, injuries aren't much of an excuse.

Part of a countries strength is its depth.

Stamkos and Taveras are better than any player on Sweden.

I don't even want us to score now. Don't let Crosby be credited with the GWG.

No legit top 6 centers is killing us in this game though. Also MÃ¥rts should play Hagelin and Nyquist a lot more.

No, Silfverberg needs more ice time where he never shoots. He's got one skill and he isn't using it. :shakehead
