The Hawks actually looked dangerous at times in the third period. Capitalized on the Canucks errors with speed and their forcheck was decent. I'm guessing that may have been due to the Canucks sitting back with a lead?

Great to see Kuz put there at the end. I always laugh when I see him skating hard, he just looks so Russian in his skating stride and half tuck

The get-the-lead-and-protect-it-through-boringness strategy not only has worked, it could be a type of load management for the team. They aren't going balls to the wall in the third periods, but playing smart, efficient, boring hockey. This could really pay off long run.
He at least had that one chance at the end. Boeser was completely invisible.

Lotto line has had a good run but it's time to round out some lines again and see where were at with Kuz and Petey.
I think the Canucks were just sloppy as crap in the 3rd, but the Hawks were clearly icing the lesser squad. Lots of plays were we bobbled or gave away the puck for no particular reason and there were quite a few Grade A looks from the Hawks off these broken plays, but you wouldn't be able to tell because of the skill gap. Like Blackwell beating Hronek to the puck off a bad play off the wall, then just kinda doing nothing with the breakaway. Or a bunch of slot chances were the Blackhawk could've gotten a real nice snipe but just did nothing dangerous with the puck.
Can't really play like that against better teams. Who knows, maybe they knew it and decided to slow down.
It’s a long season. Hard to get up for every game especially after just smoking the Leafs. Team looked like they went into cruise control after the two goal lead.
Boeser is probably getting traded, what do you guys think ?

Love it when the complainants seem to be that "well, we may be winning everything, but we are not dominate enough!".
Nobody saw us being 1st OA in the NHL with 35 games to go. Hopefully we are almost at the half way mark of the season. ( I am planning for a 102 game season.)

Difficult to reconcile the team in the 1st period with the rest of the game. Is it a systems thing when playing with the lead, or does the team just slack off?
Looked like they had all day to move up ice in the 1st and then couldn't find any room in the 2nd or most of the 3rd despite a few chances generated from neutral zone turnovers that created some odd-man rushes.
And yes, break-up the Lotto line.

We've been spoiled by Brock/Petey/Miller. They aren't gonna put up five points each every night lmao. Keep em together for now. If Kuz keeps it up, try him with Petey again.
