We have re-signed Carter Rowney to a 2-year, 1-way deal worth $650k per. Dependable, cheap extra forward who can slot into the 4th line/PK duties if a PKer gets hurt.

Will give a 4th round pick for someone to take Ouellet off my hands.

Have signed Jay Beagle to a 2 year deal worth $1m per year. Jay is exactly what we needed to round out our stellar forward group, and we're happy to have him aboard.

The Islanders are very happy to announce that they’ve re-signed captain John Tavares to an 8 year deal worth $108M. John means everything to this franchise, and after taking an incredibly team-friendly contract last time around, we were happy to pay him the highest bid.

We continue to search for upgrades on D and G through trades.

:cbj has signed UFA Paul Stastny to 5 years @ $7,000,000 with a 15 team NTC. We feel Paul will help us continue to be in the playoffs and will provide good insulation for PLD as he grows. He will provide great playmaking ability to Atkinson and Panarin.

Pleased to announnce we are bringing back Tim Schaller on a 3 year deal worth 3.75m as a key depth cog for us. We would also like to welcome Greg Pateryn to our squad as a stablizing defensive presence on our bottom pair for the next 2 years at 1.5m per. Finally, we are happy to announce the signing of veteran center Tomas Plekanec to a 2 year deal worth 3.5m.

Boston is still active in free agency and hopes to have news on a few more depth signings to complete our cup contending roster shortly.

Thrilled to announce we have signed John Carlson to a 7 year deal worth $9m per year and a full NMC. Carlson will join an already completely stacked roster, making us even more of a nightmare to try and defend.

We've also made the following minor signings:

Jakub Jerabek- 1 year, $700,000
Dominik Simon-1 year, $700,000

Vancouver has agreed on two year contracts with Tyler Bozak($5.5M AAV) and Mike Green($4M AAV). Both players bring a lot of experience to our young roster and we feel will not only compliment our young players but allow us to not rush them as well.

:sens

Ottawa is very happy to announce they've agreed on a 4 year, $19M contract with Calvin de Haan. Calvin will fit in nicely into our top 4 on defense.

We have completed our off-season moves. Cap info, signings and prospect/ in the system info is in the roster thread. This is our expected opening night lineup:

Guentzel-Crosby-Athanasiou
Hagelin-Malkin-Hornqvist
Aston-Reese/Simon-Brassard-Kessel
Sheahan-Beagle-Rust
Rowney-Simon/Aston-Reese
*IMO the best forward group in the NHL, maybe since the lockout. Best top-end talent, best depth, best speed and a sprinkle of grit and defensive/faceoff prowess. This is basically three 1st lines and a 3rd line, and there are at least a dozen different line configurations possible with this personnel.

Ekman-Larsson-Carlson
Dumoulin-Letang
Jerabek-Oleksiak
Ruhwedel
*Could probably give Nashville a run for their money as the best D corps in the league. The addition of an elite top pair to add to an 2X cup champ is big time.

Murray
DeSmith
*Murray is a proven winner, putting himself in elite company for what he's done to this point in his career. DeSmith proved to be a steady backup throughout the season.

PP1: Kessel-Crosby-Hornqvist-Carlson-Malkin
PP2:Guentzel-Brassard-Rust/Aston-Reese-Letang-Ekman-Larsson

PK Forwards: Beagle, Hagelin, Sheahan, Rust, Athanasiou, Aston-Reese/Brassard

Head Coach: Mike Sullivan
Assistant Coaches: Mark Recchi, Jacques Martin, Sergei Gonchar, Mike Buckley(G)

Nikolay Goldobin - Tyler Bozak - Elias Pettersson
Loui Eriksson - Brandon Sutter - Jake Virtanen
Brendan Gaunce - Adam Gaudette - Markus Granlund
Darren Archibald/Sam Gagner

Alex Edler - Mike Green
Brooks Orpik

Anders Nillson/Thatcher Demko

We fell we accomplished our goal of trimming some fat(Hutton, Pouliot, Baertschi) while adding picks in the process as well as moving out a player in Chris Tanev who we felt's value was only going to further go down in the future. With the additions of Kale Clague(Tanev trade) and Adam Boqvist(7th overall), we feel we have added to our biggest need on defense. We also feel we'll be able to move veterans such as Orpik, Del Zotto, Green and Bozak for futures at the upcoming trade deadlines.

:sens

Mike Hoffman - Matt Duchene - Filip Zadina
Kyle Connor
- Logan Brown - Mark Stone
Jean-Gabriel Pageau - Colin White - Zack Smith
Max McCormick - Tom Pyatt - Alex Burrows
Nicholas Paul

Tom Chabot - Jacob Trouba
Calvin de Haan
- Cody Ceci
Christian Wolanin - Fredrik Claesson
Mark Borowiecki/Ben Harpur

Craig Anderson
Mike Condon

It was a difficult decision to move on from Erik Karlsson, but we felt with the package we received from Winnipeg it was the right decision. With the additions of Connor and Zadina up front and Trouba and de Haan on the back end we feel we have positioned ourselves to compete for a playoff spot in 2018/19.
