I agree with the posters saying if he is confident and gets medical clearance, you play him. Who knows if we will even be in the playoffs next year? Regression is still a possibility. IMO you take a run while you can.
Guys it's the Ploffs, it's all about winning. Of course I don't want to see him get hurt, but if he says he good to go, you put him in. Gio a warrior and this is what you dream of when you're a kid, it's exactly why we all love him. What a ******* captain, my god.
Stupid. I know he misses playing, but why risk another injury and potentially being out at the beginning of the season or longer? Sure I want him to come back, but 100% healthy.
Guys... medical clearance is enough.
Not like he's going to the Medi-clinic in Brentwood for permission. He's got professional sports doctors who have monitored the injury from the minute it happened. They will know if he's good to go and if it's safe for him. I don't think we have to worry about them putting him in too early.
I can only imagine how fired up this team would be in the 2nd round with him back.
Not always, name me one doctor who is right all the time. If I were the Flames I would get several opinions before risking my best player further.
I would love to see him play, but I have strong doubts based on the original diagnosis.

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
Dr. Backlund.
The latter is my biggest concern.
It's thread worthy.
I'd only be concerned that he aggravates the injury somehow, makes it worse or (Gaud forbid) hamper his career.
Eric Lindros had medical clearance when he shouldn't have. It happens all the time with athletes. Whether it be their competitive nature or the teams having millions of dollars on the line; but unfortunately the health of players is sometimes overlooked.Guys... medical clearance is enough.

Didn't Crosby also get medical clearance after one of his concussions and then he was worse off because he went back too soon?
Well sure but concussions are a type of injury that are really in a class of their own. Can't compare them to normal body injuries imo.
I think Brodie could really use some confidence back playing with Gio.
Whose to say he even lost confidence? He just has been playing safer because of Engelland.
Exactly, he is a much better player when he has a much better defenseman playing on his side. Josi 2.0
