If Gio is cleared, I think it's ok to let him play. However, I think the second round might still be too early. It's hard to say though depending on medical clearance. Could you imagine the roar from the crowd if Gio stepped on the ice for a home game in the ploffs?
That also being said, I doubt Gio would be slotted on the first line. He would likely be slotted on the second or even third pairing and given sheltered minutes. Even if paired with Brodie, I doubt we shift Russel and Wideman from being first pair this season.
I say bring on the Gio if it doesn't cause long term complications. I'm sure Gio can be deadly even if he seals off certain moves to preserve his bicep.
