I don't get why Cassidy was trying to force the Gryz-McAvoy pairing. They were clearly struggling early on. Putting Miller with Chara seems like worst of bost worlds, since now there's no puck mover on that pairing and Gryz and McAvoy don't have a safety valve. I would've ended that experiment after the first period.

37-22 shots on goal, this was a winnable game vs anyone but Holtby basically lol.

I can't even be mad about the effort, think they are firmly better than the caps despite the loss.

Pretty much a scheduled loss, back half of a back to back after traveling and against a team that has owned them.

Good effort not to give up. Move past it and focus on the next game.

More good than bad tonight . We only scored 2 but created a ton unlike last night . Some big mistakes but oh well . A.K played really good despite 4 goals on 21 shots. More guys going tonight than weren't but like the Nashville game no luck.

No doubt in my mind that the Bruins could play the entire game vs. the Caps on the power play and still lose 6 out of 10 games.

If Tom Kowal refereed each game they’d lose 7 out of 10.

I applaud the effort, with any luck we could have won this game, but it seems like we are truly cursed against them. When McQuaid returns Carlo should sit for a game or two. I thought Krejci looked really good tonight as did Heinen. Unfortunately a lot of our D-men struggled defensively tonight.

Holtby didn't even have to be anything special tonight. The Bs do his job for him. I'd be interested to see a stat on how many posts and straight-up missed shots from high pct areas of the ice the Bs have compiled against him over the past 10 games. Last night's game the Bs were lucky to win against a crappy team. Tonight they played hard but made too many mental mistakes and laid the usual offensive egg against the Caps. Hopefully the Bs can get things together and have a great showing against the Rangers.

On a side note, Gryz really has some wheels. He has a ways to go defensively, but his speed, passing ability, and vision in the offensive zone are impressive.

Bjork is still pretty green compared to the other rookies, it’s too bad he didn’t go the Pastrnak route of starting the season once the AHL. It won’t hurt to sit him a game or two.

I dont mind this loss. The Bruins played hard on the tail end of back to backs and had their chances. Great experience for the Kids. DeBrusk and Heinen looked awfully good and are young defense will keep on getting better and better in these types of games.

Totally agree! Unless the NHL can look at plays like that and also the 2 on 1 hit to Marchand into the boards with no helmet, needless injuries will never be eliminated from the game. I don't care if both players didn't get their gloves off, they were on the way to it when the third man grabbed Marchand from behind. That's like shooting someone in the back and claiming self-defense. That player (can't remember the name) should have gotten an unsportsmanlike penalty. If it doesn't fit the description of the penalty then again it is up to the league to figure it out. FFS the league has been in business for over a hundred years and can't figure out ***** like this? Nonsensicle!

For a couple of seconds when he was down I was scared to death that he fell back and either split his head or broke his neck. I'm surely grateful that he's okay but so upset at that ****** job of officiating.
