That was nice of them to effectively give Babcock a free timeout there since he didn't have one of his own.

Not that it would have made much difference.

I love how we keep going back and forth with Howard's play and mrazeks because of how streaky they both are.

Riley Sheahan is a dog of a hockey player. His zero goals this year have had nothing to do with bad luck and everything to do with a total lack of intensity or hockey smarts. His dumb icing wasted the Wings' timeout, and he got blown by on the Leafs go-ahead goal by JVR. He's going to finish the year -30.

And getting smashed by Babcock and the Leafs this year really hurts. The vets can complain about Babs all they want - I'd rather have the wins.

Neither team can play lick of defense. Polak is a good one for them though.

Nope. The drought now extends to 357 days. (This is not an April Fools joke)
Fours games left for this loser to save his career and Blashill's.

Our number 1 defenseman got his second goal of the season! If he's lucky he might catch up with Nick Jensen!

Was able to watch the game from the first row tonight. Polak is a very large human being and covers the ice well.

Kadri freakin lit up Helm in the first with that hit

Why? They have so many holes it'd make swiss cheese blush. They have a long ways to go before they are a true contender. Wings had over 40 shots on them tonight... now that's pathetic.

If the Leafs are Swiss cheese, then the Wings are a hula hoop.

It's all working out exactly as Bettman planned. But also Leafs window won't be open long before they'll have to hand out HUGE contracts. They are under more pressure to fill those holes before it's too late.

But hey, they can sometimes out score their way out of their mistakes. But dang they give up a lot of shots and look completely lost in the defensive zone. Not impressed.

And If the not for their rookies playing like they are they wouldn't be lickin the heels of any playoff team this year still.

Yup after 75 games it ain't just bad luck anymore. He's a bust. Another 1st round bust no less. Just like Kindl. Smith.....etc How much longer is that list gonna be? Larkin? You do know Larkin is worse than Sheahan in +/- right? Larkin is -29 and Sheahan is -28 after tonight's game.

Yup Shanny and Babs there. Yzerman in Tampa. Why do all our former players and coaches have to join our bitter rivals?

Tampa isn't/wasn't a rival. They still aren't really. And likely never will be. There likely won't be any rivalries that can happen like Detroit/Colorado. Most rivalries and future ones are probably only geographic/actual rivalries now. Don't expect Detroit to be rivals with Carolina. Only division opponents besides Florida. And cbj

The horror of having good players that will deserve pay raises.

Glad we don't have that problem.

Yep. I'm glad we can afford to pay so many of our players like Helm, Dekeyser, Abdelkader long term. If we had good players who deserved more, how would we keep everybody!?!?

And it's not like the Pittsburghs and Chicagos of the world haven't sometimes found a way to pay those great players and still remain in contention for an extended window.
