Ortio's qualifying offer would be $660,000 and league minimum is $550,000? or around there. And I don't think he would've got much through way of arbitration. Safe to say Ortio isn't coming back next year?

The sticking point was 1-way vs. 2-way, though. I don't think it was about money itself.

That dollar value for Colborne is a little high, for sure. Around $3M please. If it's really going to be that high, it better be for one year only.

Flames avoided arbitration so they wouldn't have to spend $3.5-4 mil on Colborne, because if the arbitrator awarded more than 3.9 the Flames couldn't walk away. Once again Dreger doesn't know what he is talking about.

Colborne's next contract will be closer to Bouma's than Shaw's. (If the Flames re-sign him anyway)

4 million for Colborne is horrendous. Kick him to the curb if that's what he's asking.

I'd be more than happy to see him walk. Anything over $2M would be a super ****** IMO.

I'd be ecstatic with a 2.25ish deal, and still fine with 3, anything more though I wouldn't be a fan of.

I have vision that Colborne signed with the Oilers and become McDavid's RW.:sarcasm:
