liked edstrom again, he's a heady player, not perfect in the d-zone, but that's not surprising, and he's hardly worse there than Pitlick who he's much more effective than in the o-zone

happy for igor, we really need him to be good again

top line still sucks, not gonna let it ruin my night, but sheesh

I can't say how much i hate saying this but Jonathan Quick has been a bit of a saviour for us, the way he talked about Igor the other day imo gave him a boost of confidence. Quick has been the best free agent signing we've had since Panarin.

I still believe if we had a bonafide center between Cuylle and Kakko we would be a serious threat, those two are carrying that line, if Chytil were there theyd recreate that kid line that helped us so much in the playoffs on the run to the ecf.

Is Brodz this team's 2012 John Mitchell? He's riding shotgun with the youngster he tore it up with in the A the season before. It could end the same way where he goes to the 4th line or is a 13th forward, but let's ride the wave while Brodz is producing.

Drury doesn't have to cave in to high prices right now. Let's more teams become sellers.

After all said and done would Vesey wind up being fondly remembered by the Rangers fans?!?! What a wonderful turnaround redemption story would it be.

He’s going to score the Cup winning goal for us one of these years

4 1 goal wins with great team D out of the break couldn’t have come at a better time with the rumors swirling. Patience is key, they really don’t need to make a trade with Brodz on fire and Edstrom getting a look.

Nice to see Igor get his first shutout of the season. Cuylle's greasy goal is a playoff style goal. Need more of those from top to bottom in the lineup. Vesey's pick pocket and finish to put the game away was wonderful.

PP is the drizzling shits though.

Kreider cutting into the crease with the puck is always a nice sight to watch . Most D have no answer for that . He needs to do it more often . It was a good game for us as the Flames play a heavy game and guys like Cuylle played GREAT . Gus was fighting the facial protection....can't be easy for a Dman to wear it . Edstrom had a good game without any major gaffs and did break up a few passes with his reach .

Chytil is not available and potential acquisition likely won’t be at that level either. But what’s the need to constantly (daily) diss Brodzinski? Go rewatch last nights goal and pay attention to what Brodzinski was doing during the whole shift. I’m all for improving 3C position but Brodzinski has been more than acceptable this season and even more so since he got moved to center Cuylle and Kakko.

Nah, the empty net record Ovi just broke is 50 some

Right, but how do you fix Kreids and Mika
Honestly- you sit them. Sounds shitty but maybe a little embarrassment lights a fire. It works- they need to wake up and realize they have to try.

At least, you break them up and demote them- take away ice time.

I've been thinking this for a bit.

Felt very good about last night’s game. Bottom 6 comes through again, and Vesey is the guy I want out there when the lead is on the line in the final few mins. Let the dude rack up his EN goals , dude has earned it.

The PP is still an issue and when they went back to the original unit that was woof. But in their defense, Calgary is very aggressive on the PK.

The flow of the game was good, felt we got stone-walled by a hot goalie , but were able to prevail. Shesty with a very good confidence booster game. So it was a good thing all around.

Not bad of a reference but Johnny Malkin had only one season stint with the Rangers varsity (followed by 5 pretty decent seasons with Avs). This is actually the 4th season when Brodzinski got a call up and each one is much longer than the season before.

Kreider had a pretty bad game last night. A couple of botched setups for high danger chances and pretty weak defending late in third in the own zone.

Zibanejad seems to be coming around again. Hopefully this is a start of a trend that carries into late regular and post season.
