I can see why he would reject that trade, he left Babock once already. Filpulla does not like Babcock what-so-ever. That's why he left Detroit to begin with. Detroit offered him more money than Tampa, and he took less money to leave Babcock.

That's revisionist history.

Flip got more money and icetime in Tampa. He wanted $5 mill and Holland wasn't willing to match.

I can certainly see him not being a fan of Babcock but I've never heard any concrete evidence of that, just that people keep repeating it. Whereas with the contract details there are.

Val can play wing too which makes him more valuable it means he can play any forward position

Winger is the easier position. A centre can move to wing easily... A defensemen and a goalie can too.
