Toronto getting calls on Holzer I was just told.

A few weeks ago and as recent as a few days ago, Darren Dreger has had Holzer's name move up in % of him being traded. So in my opinion Eklund is not reporting anything new.

NYR trading three first round picks in a row? That seems excessive.

Has anyone thought about the possibility of Phaneuf to Philly? They're a team that always makes big plays that aren't necessarily expected; and their biggest issue has been defense. If there's a first rounder involved then TO can take on all kinds of cap dumps (Umberger/Grossman/even Lecavalier if deal is right).

It would need to be the Rangers 1st round pick in 2016, because their 1st in 2015 is owned by Tampa Bay because of the Martin St. Louis trade.

I wonder if this will set the market for what Toronto could get for Phaneuf when and if he is traded.

Excellent. Price is set for Phaneuf now I guess. Rangers weren't interested in Phaneuf, so no suitors lost, but all competition is. Phaneuf's value could have just skyrocketed now? Plus Girardi still makes Arizona a good team that could pass us; they'll likely keep him and pair him with OEL.

In February 2014 Girardi signed a 6 year extension with the Rangers worth $33 million.

Absolutely ridiculous trade from Rangers perspective. But I like it for Arizona, as long as they get good prospect.

Plus, I think that this raises price for Phaneuf, if 1st going back.

And Girardi will be great partner for OEL, nice move by Arizona. Now they need just big C and try to find new goalie in later rounds.
