Semin wasn't that for the last few years, especially at the playoffs. Injury issues too, I think he was ppg 10-11 before he injured himself.

But sort of agree, I don't think there's any player that could be said to be major upgrade over what Semin brings. Or at least could bring.

Has Kuzya played wing or C this games?

Well, Ovechkin and Backstrom weren't ppg players if we combine their last 2 years ;) Even if Semin doesn't reach his potential (that has no limits), he's better than Kuznetsov. They are players of similar roles, Kuzya being a talented kid and Sasha being a master.

Kuzya generally plays RW alongside Jan Bulis.

It's fun to watch Kutzenstov play, just scored a very nice goal (2-2 against Atlant)

Goal at 2:03. Easy peasy. He was injured in the third period (~3:37 in the highlights) and according to the club will miss just 5-7 days with another minor shoulder injury. We'll see.

Looks like not the shoulder he had surgery on. According to the official report from '09, he had surgery on the left shoulder.

According to McKenzie, the ELC goes from 3 to 2 years in a new proposal by the NHL. Could be an important factor in many Russians coming over, including Kuznetsov.

Shortening the entry level length and increasing the time it takes to get to UFA largely benefits the owners...

Most players will not have blossomed after year two so overall I bet that keeps that 2nd contract value down, which clearly has been a runaway problem of late with all of these crazy 2nd contracts.

Kuznetsov returned to action with an assist in a 6-3 win and a game-high 24:15 of TOI.

Good Lord. Coast to coast like its nobodies business. Can't wait to see this highlight reel dynamo in the NHL. He is going to make other teams blood boil and likely elevate the Caps as a better team and back to that offensive powerhouse we've seen in years of past. Him and Backstrom as a 1-2 is scary good.

Kuzya loses faceoff on PK and Donbass scores. 0-1.

Jan Bulis is injured so Kuzya is playing center, so far looking good at center.

Kuzya with a coast to coast move, didn't score, but was nice.
