I think he's skating much better now.

He's reverted to not taking his man in the slot, a problem he fixes occasionally and then relapses.

I think having Chabot will help Karlsson find his game again. Chabot makes quick decisions and shoots more often. I hope that reminds Karlsson he doesn't have to fondle the puck for 10 seconds at the point.

Karlsson is hurting the team this year. Easily responsible for at least 6 losses or more. Just terrible, terrible and if I were Melnyk and Dorion, how in the hell do you commit anything to a guy like this right now? Let's hope he recovers for next season, or else we are screwed

Completely agree. it scares me to sign him. Better dman or not in the league.. His 2 big surgery are making me worried that the Karlsson we are seeing right now is what we are going to get. We can extend him on july 1st.. Will some fan be angry if we wait to see what we have with him next year before giving him a long term contract?

.

Agree.

Karlsson is playing slow hockey sometime. He want player to chage at him to take them out of the play it seems. That a smart thing to do, but what is even smarter is quick moving simple hockey. Especially on the PP.

I've heard something from a pretty reliable source that Karlsson is angry at team doctors about his surgery. I will disclose more as I gear it today...but it certainly explains his "don't give a crap" style of play. Something to do with certain surgical options that were not disclosed when he thinks they should have been.

I would be shocked if he didn't consult the opinion of a few other surgeons before doing the surgery. Seems common practice in professional sports to get multiple opinions for more serious injuries

I found it odd that Karl wasn't smiling after the Ryan goal. He does look pretty unhappy out there these days.

Is this man still injured or is he just ****ing awful this season? He's hurting me in two separate pools.

What the **** gives??

Fantasy tip: Don't buy high on a player who had major off season surgery

Unfortunately, that is the other part I am trying to confirm. Something to do with using a cadaver tendon rather than an artificial piece is the issue.

Well, just from a psychological standpoint, having tissue from a dead donor messes with your head quite a bit (depending on the person).

this isn't a Sens issue imo. he had surgery in North Carolina. I doubt any hockey team has medical people on staff that are qualified to properly assess that kind of injury. Athletes see specialists who perform these kinds of things

Has anyone else noticed that EK's first pass consistently seems to be too hot to handle for our weak forwards. The forwards either don't get to the puck, or it hops their stick, or they fumble it constantly.
I'm starting to wonder if his passing is a bit of the issue when we're trying to enter the opposing zone. Obviously EK has the reputation of being highly skilled, and it's easy to knock the puck retriever in this case, but i wonder if he's not helping in this case because we lose possession 2/3rd of the time this happens.

He didn't look happy after any of the goals.
He looked unhappy and preoccupied.
should he look happy? He has been pretty bad this year and said some stupid comments right when we started sinking about getting paid then got totally destroyed for it.

If Karlsson is unhappy its probably more about his performance and the team he leads

Now that's a dumb thing to say.

Do you think the Ottawa Senators trainer performed the surgery, on a bench in the locker room???

Some people.

Do the senators employ surgeons? Or do they have a team doctor for whatever things and go to private surgeons for surgery?

I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

He uses that pass a lot more then he used to. He doesn't rush with the puck nearly as much.

I think the foot is still bothering him for sure

The team has 3 team doctors (plus dental), Dr Chow, who the internet tells me is an ENT specialist, Dr Aubry, an orthopedic surgeon, Dr Cregan, a GP. They likely refer them to specialists when needed.
