Yeah I mean if making the playoffs isn't enough to get this team fired up, bringing in a total outsider who has no insight into the Ducks locker room doesn't seem like it's going to magically turn things around. Chris Kelly must be the next Tony Robbins and have a degree in sports psychology.

It would make some sense if he's supposed to replace that veteran that San Diego lost, who was loaned there from Toronto but recently traded. An AHL depth replacement. If it's supposed to be anything else, it makes no sense.

On a serious note, he did play for the Eastern conference finalists last year. He was mostly a healthy scratch but I guess he still can be useful. Also for adding some veteran presence. But that salary looks bigger than I expected.
