It absolutely won't happen. PLD, Brisson, Chevy, Hughes, Blake or literally anybody with half a brain knows this - which is why that statement was absolutely idiotic. Going public only makes it less likely that you get the trade and the contract that you wish for.

Also, I find that theory highly unlikely. If anything, stating that there are five other teams is his feeble attempt of getting Montreal to outbid "the rest" - obviously to the benefit of the Jets, but most importantly himself and his next contract too. If he had wanted to help the Jets, he would have kept his mouth shut.

There's one thing that Habs fans seem to all miss here: the Jets don't lose leverage as time goes on, we actually gain it. We don't have to accept a bad return now, because the 2024 trade deadline will always be our chance to get a good rental return from a contender. Any deal that is made in the summer needs to beat that, or else it just makes more sense to wait until Dubois budges and signs a one-year deal with us, with an understanding that there is a trade for him to a contender at the deadline.

My prediction, finally: if Dubois isn't traded by / at the draft, he'll return to Winnipeg for another year. Chevy is the most stubborn and hard-nosed GM in the league, and Hughes doesn't appear to be an easy customer either. Ironically, both sides might just benefit from waiting it out too.
If he doesn’t sign you won’t be able to trade him at the deadline.

Yannetti was talking about the Kings draft process and recent picks. He talked about the Kings run a development plan at 7 total years. They look for the prospects to be making the NHL team at 5 years and be contributing in years 6 and 7. He said the hope is prospects exceed that time frame but are happy with how long it take to develop. He said guys like Toffoli, Kempe and Vilardi are perfect examples of the process. He also said that they made some mistakes by rushing guys to early in the process that hurt their development. So Byfield being in his 3rd season has exceed the process but they don't want to rush him in development at the NHL level. They see the player the drafted at 2 OA but just need to see him be more consistent.
That’s been the NHL philosophy for every team, for decades. Basically 24-25 years old. That’s also prospects “in general.” Not players drafted in the Top of the draft. Especially 2nd Overall.

So while bigger pivots take more time to develop, which people on this board always fail to understand, if you’re drafted in the Top 3, that 7 years drops to around 4-5. Tops. It becomes an excuse after so many years.

We finally see a lot of good things from Rasmussen for example. I think he was 9th overall. It’s taken 5 years. Dach has had some issues in his development but probably because Chicago forced so much on him, and he’s likely never going to be a great C.

So while you can’t push them, it’s safe to say we should’ve seen more from Byfield at this point. Doesn’t mean he won’t become a really good player. Just means he was drafted way too high. Probably should’ve been closer to 10th overall than 1st overall. Doesn’t mean you don’t now put him on that longer plan either. Just means he was over-drafted.

Highly rumoured players never go to Montreal. I've seen this story too many times to believe he'll even sniff Montreal air outside of offseason and road games.

Dubois spends every offseason in Montreal but hes never been out like this summer at every event taking pictures with everyone it might not mean much none of us know but its definitely different from hes other summers here

Chevy should be all over Calgary’s pick we own watch it be a lottery pick with everyone asking for trades
Could be Dubois' agent using the media to put pressure on MTL to up their offer & get the deal done before Dubois is forced to sign with another team.

Thread ban list is growing daily.........who's next?

STOP talking about cities and generalizing/hateful comments towards fan bases, cultures or languages or your next to be gone. Stop taking pop shots at each other, none of you have any impact on what happens so don't act like you do. Chill out, mods are tired of hand holding this thread bc people cannot act properly. Just thread banning people now who break the rules in this thread, you've all been warned enough times.

Also be warned when this trade happens, people trolling & flaming in that new thread will get the same treatment. This isn't hard to follow the rules people. Talk trades, potential trades.........stop all this other crap going on. Don't care who you are or what fan base your from, follow the rules or else.
