The Sopranos talk in this thread makes me happy lmao, easily my favorite show of all time. Watched it during covid for the first time and might do another re-watch since I don't remember much since the big parts

Huge news if true

Great news but hopefully he isn't coming back to save Lindy's job and he's 100% healthy this time around unlike last

Saving his job or not, I think Lindy will be back next year regardless since he has the excuse of the "injury bug" to save his ass.

Yeah I keep saying, I think he’s gonna at least starf the year next season.

I do believe Rogalski will be this offseason’s version of Nas/Recchi though.

Then again, I’m so confidently expecting it that even he probably won’t go lol.

I suppose if we have a pretty good implosion with Jack back that we could see Lindy fired after the season ends.

Unless the team completely craters this season like you said, I think the same.

I think the redeeming part of Ruff is the young players all have look solid this year, Holtz, Luke, Nemec, and even guys like Hatakka. He’s still doing what he was brought in to do, which was develop the young core.

Only way he doesn’t come back, in my opinion, is if some coach out there that’s a clear upgrade like Sullivan, Cooper, etc. somehow ends up on the market.

Someone that Fitzgerald would have no qualms about ditching Ruff and hiring them.

The players will determine if Lindy comes back. More performances like the one against Vancouver and the one against Tampa Bay will ensure he does not. I don't know why there's this bizarre fatalism that Lindy cannot be fired.

Sergachev was 19 and 20 when he was doing that, breaking in on a largely veteran team. Mukhamadullin is already older. And I agree Siegenthaler could move, but it's still just that we have 3 D who can play on the power play and only 2 spots.
Sergachyov and McDonagh played 5 years together, and Sergachyov had pretty strong start.

Because everything Fitz says is super pro Lindy and he talks so well about him
That doesn’t mean he can’t be fired soon.

One of the last things you hear from a GM before a coach gets fired is how we believe in him and he’s the right guy and the players love him and blah blah blah.

That usually comes about a week or two, sometimes three before the coach gets fired.

I’m sure they were saying it about McLellan not long ago and the other guys who have been fired recently.

Yeah I agree here, also the Subban interview with Novo did him no favors.

You won't be watching Bratt?

He IS on Team Hughes and will play, you know?

Yes, I know the game's a joke but this is Bratt's 1st All-Star appearance so....
I have no problem with anyone enjoying the all star game, be they 6 or 86.

But I work on Saturdays so I haven’t watched one in a decade ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So you couldn't make an exception (at least at 4 pm) to watch Bratter make his All-Star debut? :puppy:

It's just one time and then you can ignore the rest of the all-star games going forward.

BUT if you work on Saturdays, that's kind of a moot point.:laugh::laugh:

I think this is exactly what Fitz is thinking. He doesn't want to just bring in another temp coach to replace Ruff. He wants the next permanent coach. Still gives me Shero vibes but whatever.
